Puc

It is very rare to get a genuine PUC. Even if you are willing to get your vehicle checked, it is very rare you could get the guy oblige you. They just click a snap of the number plate and type some numbers which are below the stipulated limits.

I got a PUC certificate from Gurgaon for my Swift Ldi, the guy did not check the emission level. He simply clicked the picture of the number plate and gave me the certificate. I was charged Rs. 60/-.

Eddy, The Pump is on the Old Delhi road(the road on which Dhingra motors have thier showroom). The pump is little distance from BSNL building. There is PUC checking kiosk there.

I never had any issue with PUC checking for my car in Bangalore. IOC petrol pump near Sagar Appollo does for Diesel cars too and also Vijay Allignment opposite Delmia Software on JP Nagar Ring Road. Also i found the time taken for the check is similar and the quote of Diesel cars taking more time is baseless.

Regards

I dont know bout delhi... but in Mumbai you can get it from the roadside mobile PUC, usually in a maruti van. They are at most locations, esp on the highways.. and gues what, went with a friend to get a puc for his mahindra commander. the puc man just shoved the sensor stick in the tailpipe but his machine(some old junk piece it looked like) wasnt working. Then he gave my buddy a green PUC certificate fully laminated with the readings. And off we went.
Fully authentic. PUC = Pollution Un Controlled.

Update: Got my PUC from the petrol pump that is almost opposite 32nd Milestone complex on NH-8 Gurgaon. No checking done. Charged 70 bucks for the certificate. No hassles.

Not ethical maybe, but very convenient.

By the way what if you dont drive away when some PUC centers not doing the test for deisels? Government given him license to test and give a report on Pollution. Now how they can be selective on cars? This is something like Autoricks not coming for a short-ride. Have you guys ever try to resist?

Its like the rics only. You can resist only to a certain extent if they say that the machine ain't working.

Yes, we can complain but have never really bothered.
