Re: OMG Scoop Pics! HM Ambassador PICK-UP TRUCK spotted

^^^^ I like this a lot. Much much better than the contraption seen before. It looks a bit tail heavy because of the extended tail. Also the cab has a much better finish.

Now kinda like it, looks like a pick up from the 50s,60s or like fellow BHPians say the Morris pick up.Now HM, what about a double cab version too?
The crap looks aged and see the toiling look. The rear suspension has already bottomed out and then how to load it. Or is it that HM has placed dead weights in the loading bay and the look of a man pulling a cart.
Looks like HM has sourced out an old Amby from Kolkata streets and applied a surgeon's scalpel.
HM you are a discerning entrant to any joke thread.

Well you can see it has a full load in the loading bay, so slightly bottomed out, even a 207 bottoms out with a heavy load.
And this version is more aesthetically pleasing than the version with commercial vehicle loading bay.

Re: HM launches Veer - Utility version of Ambassador

Ok, the name isn't original, though it "sounds" Indian. I need to be considerate though, she's great-aunt to my Cedia, after all!

I assume that the pronunciation is "veeeeer" rather than "vear"

HM's going nuts by the day.. God bless them. Where others are going ahead with time, HM seems to be going backwards. This was totally uncalled for. Dont know if and why anyone would buy it today..whats the pricing like???

Re: HM launches Veer - Utility version of Ambassador

The original from yesteryear looks better built and cohesive than what HM have managed to do now.

And at Rs 3.3 lakhs, HM should be nuts!

The did hae a utility version of the amby earlier. There ought to be some law against such ad nausem recycling of nauseating designs.

I'd be really surprised if they even hope to sell a respectable number of these fat grannie out for a jog looking vehicle! Only HM can putup such a weird show. The Amby is a closed chapeter HM, get over it!

With you Gaurav. HM should rather work on a completely new car has class like the old Amby ( like how Suzuki worked on retaining lines, but built a new car for better). I would love to see the guys behind this idea and kick them hard.

Re: HM launches Veer - Utility version of Ambassador

I always thought the guys who designed the MM Genio pickup had set the standards of design oddity but trust an HM to beat them to it! Should have a poll for the "Battle of the Oddness" and see who comes on top!

I sometimes really wonder that how does an odd-ball car design really slip through the sights of all sane people to make it from the drawing board to an actual launch? Seriously noone@HM noticed this is just odd?

P.S. And NO! The functionality over form argument can not explain this!

Re: OMG Scoop Pics! HM Ambassador PICK-UP TRUCK spotted. EDIT : Launched as the Veer!

Old Ambassador cars can be bought and modified to this kind of stuff for 1/3rd of Veer's cost..
I agree with Parm on the smoking part

You said it .

What's next on HM's list?
A "Desert-Veer" based on Amby that compete's Thar?

Oh, I should have said "based on Amby platform" - it would help me sound like an expert and help HM look very "technical" .

Re: OMG Scoop Pics! HM Ambassador PICK-UP TRUCK spotted. EDIT : Launched as the Veer!

Whats with that grill! This is a cruel slap on the legacy of the Hindustan Ambassador. What is the usp of this contraption?
Are these steel bumpers still legal?
