Re: Fiat Linea 2013 - Spy Shot

Fiat is basically going American now. And the Linea is pretty much having a sex change due to this.

I just hope that next year we get the 1.6MJD engine in the Linea and that would really make the current car complete.

Cheers

Re: Fiat Linea 2013 - Spy Shot

This looks like Ford or Hyundai bought a controlling stake in Fiat.

There are already quite a few (including me) who are finding it difficult to digest the looks of new Verna and Fiesta. On top of that, we don'd need classy cars botching up the design just for the sake of so called sportiness. Definitely not welcome.

This is the perfect combination of grace and sophistication. Somehow I feel this car looks even better than the current Linea and will appeal our general public more.
Sharper lines are more popular in our market

Is this a concept? Timing is quite right as the current Linea does have the looks to continue for another couple of years.

I find the new look very Korean. Not much of Italian flair there.

Re: Fiat Linea 2013 - Spy Shot

It looks as if somebody took the 2012 3 series, removed the kidney grille & added the Etios' side profile to the pic shown in page 1. I seriously doubt FIAT will sell it under the FIAT marque. It just doesn't fit in.

It isn't far from the way the VW Scirocco, I'm of the opinion.

Perhaps more like the Scirocco Concept..?

Good catch. There are some similarities indeed.

But the production model of Scirocco got much better than the concept, and looks very European, which is not the case with the Fiat shown above

Re: Fiat Linea 2013 - Spy Shot

Overall look is stylish and sporty. But they should not spoil looks of Linea. Fiat should continue the most beautiful Babe "Linea" with upgrades like Interior, 1.6D engine etc to get more numbers.
This car can be introduced as "Fiat sportica" with all new and fresh colors which are not avaliable in Punto/Linea.

Cosmetic upgrade = change in interiors, HU et al.?

Re: Fiat Linea 2013 - Spy Shot

For a country like US it looks good. I think for Indian market people would still prefer the beautiful lines of the current Linea.

And as for the engine the Multi Air is a gasoline engine so in India might see that as a disadvantage.

Again in the current model I think the only thing Fiat's got to do is put in a punchy engine and improve a little on the interior space front. Yeah and not to forget the ground clearance here.

It might be the color or just the photograph the blue color just does not gel with the red of the Fiat Emblem. How is the rear going to look like ?

Wondering if there's going to be any surprises during the Auto Expo '12

What do you think Guys?
With FIAT taking the reins of Chrystler (Dodge) this is quite possible the Dodge Hornet is launch in European markets as FIAT model (if not as the next generation Linea)

Re: Fiat Linea 2013 - Spy Shot

I think it looks fantastic. That is without a doubt one of the sexiest front-ends of any car in the indian auto landscape today, in my opinion.

I don't agree that it looks like a Verna at all...I can't see any elements of Hyundai styling in there. To me, it looks almost like an Alfa with the slim headlights that slant down and the butch front end.

If it looked likes this when it's launched and it comes with a good diesel mill, I'm pretty sure it would be on the top of my shopping list.

Only time will tell about the exact details.Cosmetic upgrades can be the changes in the glasses of headlight/break light or may be interiors as well.

Agree, It is going to loose it's Italian looks. And also it is not a concept car.

Cheers!

Re: Fiat Linea 2013 - Spy Shot

This design looks contemporary, but might look out of fashion a couple of years down the line. The current Linea, however, looks like a timeless classic.

This, to me, looks like one of those cars which I love that they are there: adding jazz to the otherwise run-of-the-mill cars plying (e.g., Beat, New Verna) but when it comes to pick one of them I probably will pick something else. But that is what floats my boat.
I presume this New Linea, if it makes it to India, will find quite a lot of buyers.

The picture shown is of the Dodge Dart supposed to be revealed in the Detroit Auto Show 2012. The car is based on Alfa Romeo Giulietta.
