Hoping the Auto expo wont let us down. Most manufacturers are going to have their events webcast on the net and I was just trying to grab the links together for the events on 5 Jan 2012. This may be a good way to keep updated if you are unable to go to the expo!!

Somehow didnt like the rear end of the car. It looks a little too high and er.. jumpy.
Wonder what all will change when this car gets ready for production. Speaking of which, is there any news on when this will be?

Yes this is based on Swift platform, thats what i heard from an auto journalist couple of days back.

Yes, I too had the same thought immediately on seeing this. But what is that about Indian wrestling? what connection?? XUV said they are inspired from Cheetah!! A giant of a vehicle being inspired from a puny cheetah and now we have a mini SUV inspired from wrestling. Is it because Sumo wrestlers are for huge SUVs and hence mini SUVs should be equated to Indian wrestlers??

The mini SUV segment seems to be the most active in this expo. Goody Goody!!

Now waiting for the Duster launch and Fabia Scout (if that can be called a mini SUV)

Is it only me who finds both the so called mini SUV's, the Ecosport and the XA Alpha now, to be slightly large hatchbacks put on high lifts and large tyres? Am somehow slightly disappointed at the proportions. I think would have liked a slightly taller body shell to make them more proportionate to the tyre sizes and the GC. (Of course, that would have reduced the handling part a bit, but am speaking from an aesthetics point of view.)

Also, the glass area in the XA Alpha seem to be too small. Hope it does not feel clautrophobic inside.

The Maruthi XAalfpha looks like it is inspired by the LR Evoque!! ANy specs on it? Is it a real SUV or a new segment in between a Hatch and SUV?

What an epic monstrosity. A evoque wannabe and a total eye sore. How do these things go from design to production phase ? I mean you might as well spend a couple of million on a "foraaan" design house and get somethign which is at least tasteful.

Seeing how the general public goes ga ga over designs from higher 50+ bracket , it wouldnt be that hard to get a design on a cheaper platform and mass sell it. Who wouldnt pay something as sweet as the "real" evoque body kit on a 10 lakh platform.
