The current PS on scorpio is too light and doesn't really offer any sence of road for example the way Ikon does, which can be risky during offroading

I'm sure but I just would like to know what it is.....they could always offer the option on a higher end model; besides, if they are badging it as SUV, its the least they could do? I mean, all SUVs come with ABS & Airbags as standard - I can understand perhaps the airbags being left out because of the cost factor but ABS/EBD is not that expensive.

Maybe its the availability of the kits for all you know......I know Ford was having a problem with the Fiesta ABS models due to scarcity of the imported ABS kits
From what I have heard is current Scorpio has quick brake fading issues.
I also agree that they should have made ABS optional, but M&M guys might have some plans.

The new Scorpio will be unveiled at a press meet sometime early next week. Look out in the newspapers.

From what I read elsewhere the LWB version is not going to be launched just yet. The new improved handling version is next on the launch pad.

Any idea, if the dealers are accepting a pre-launch deposit? I have been waiting for the vehicle for over 6 months. There is no other alternative in the same price bracket or a couple of lakhs more.

Scorpio Website Updated

Check out the new look Scorpio on their website http://www.mahindrascorpio.com/scorpio2006/
Apart from some cosmetic changes doesnt seem to be very different from the earlier one. I guess the biggest change would be suspension and improved handling.

Looks like the Maruti bug has bitten them. They call it the ALL NEW SCORPIO.

It seems to have 43 newer versions. It will be nice though it some one could get us a nice test drive report.

The Scorpio has 4WD, Intelligent Wipers and Headlamps, Tubeless Tyres, but what it lacks sadly is Airbags ans ABS. I dont know when MnM will decide to put that in a market where its not a luxury but more of a necessity.

Looks like its just a teaser, no specs yet.

PS: the rear taillights are heavily inspired by the Dodge Durango, Volvo wagon and Jeep Liberty

I do not know what you were expecting but it looks impressive to me. They have had a go at sorting out the rear suspension which was the main gripe about the old Scorpio. Interior wise, they have added a few neat touches and listened to customers about the position of the rear AC vents. I truly think that for the slight price increase it is a lot of car for your money. Exterior wise I think the rear could have been further improved. The hood scoop looks good.
