I had a Ford Endeavor Thunder+ 4x4. Regular serviced costs like oil filter/air filter/fuel filter etc are comparable to Scorpio/Safari. The body and suspension parts like bumper, tie rod ends, etc are damn expensive and not available outside the dealership. Now that Ford has decided to sell spares outside it maybe easier on the wallet as you can buy OEM part outside and get a good mechanic to do it outside. Towards the end I found a good independent source for parts. He would source it for me from Thailand and my trusted mechanic would do the work. Tie rod ends for example was sourced for Rs. 6000 for a set from Thailand. Ford Dealer quoted something like 12 to 15 K plus labour for the tie rod end set.

Overall, your maintenance cost will be about 50% more than Toyota so the price and kit has to justify. The problem though is that the new updated Fortuner is coming out next year and I am sure Toyota will make some major improvements as they will have to compete with the new Endeavour and the new Trail Blazer from Chevy.

So ford imported 5 Endeavours close to a month back. Its safe to assume that the car will only be launched by late this year or early next year.

8-10 months testing is expected from Ford. In fact, Ford tested the EcoSport for close to 18 months before launching it in India.

Don't expect the car anytime before next year. Ford it infamous for delaying launches in India and don't keep your hopes up.
On the plus side, the Endeavour seems to be a very promising car and is sure to give a tough battle to the aging and well, rudimentary Fortuner.

I remember how the Endeavour had nearly a cult status with a near monopoly a few years back. I hope the same news can be heard this time. The car this time is way more spacious. The seats look extremely comfortable, and the interiors are very upmarket. I just hope the ride and handling is upto the mark. Price it below the 24 lakh mark and Ford certainly has a winner here.

IndianAutosBlog had an article the other day about the launch of Endeavour in Thailand. Looking at the last few launches which follow the Thai launches, we should expect a one year timeline. So prakhar1998 is right on the dot.

One of the comments from a guy, Rahul was interesting: "I am a parts supplier, and had a detailed chai-pe conversation with one of Ford's top brass in India. I was told that the original plan was to price the Endeavor competitively, and make it compete with Toyota Fortuner. However, they lost one of their visible management folks in India, so now decisions are being pushed down from outside the country, and they apparently have no clue about ground realities in India, which of course is understandable."

Sounds unfortunate, if the pricing is wrong. Some of us who have been following the travails of Ford and Ford Fiesta in particular will have a déjà vu moment.

Guess, some people never learn.

Ford definitely need to price the Endeavour a good 4-5 Lakhs cheaper than the Fortuner, because as we all know Fortuners price is ridiculously inflated.

1600000 THB is equal to 30.5 lakhs inr.
This is going to be quite a significant increase in price when compared to existing Endeavor price list

The specification of 3.2L Titanium+ 4X4 looks very promising from the feature front, keeping finger crossed to see whether all on this list will make its way to India? If yes then as seen on recent launches this will be a one another full loaded vehicle from Ford which will make the competitors shy.
Blind sporting, Cross traffic alert, Panoramic moon roof, Power adjustable 3rd row seat, Heated side mirrors are few.
By the way what is that volumetric burglar alarm system, anyone?
