True but the Aegea is only available in left hand drive. Fiat do not think it is worth the investment to re-engineer this for right hand drive considering volumes. There is no other RHD market except for South Africa where fiats presence is low

Makes sense Ajmat, thought this car will be made available for UK, Australia and New Zealand markets.

UK does not like small saloon cars. Only the D segment and above sees traction in saloon forms. Austrailia and New Zealand are too small, also people hang onto cars much longer over there

Re: Fiat could replace Linea with Aegea or Grand Siena

Is it just me or those wheels are really puny?
The rest of the car looks well proportioned though.

Also, considering the fact that most sedans have gone with bigger engines, probably bring the 1.6 MJD into this as well.

Re: Fiat could replace Linea with Aegea or Grand Siena

I hope I'm wrong but the test mules do not look spectacular at all. Linea's dimensions & clean lines at least look very good & elegant. This one looks quite dull. Not something one can expect at least for now, to compete with the likes of Verna, Ciaz and City. This is best left in the lower tier IMO unless the interiors and engines make up for everything.

I've seen FIAT cars up close & they simply lack what they need for Indian market. Punto is the only one in their armory really. Cars above the Tipo though good packages and well powered - are very costly & won't break the ice for FCA in the Indian market's bread-n-butter segment.

Re: Fiat could replace Linea with Aegea or Grand Siena

Fiat ARGO Sedan spied again and more details emerge,

- The sedan will larger wheelbase than the Argo for improving the interior space.

- Boot capacity at 500 liters

- Different tail lamps than those in the ARGO

- Argo Sedan won't have 1.0 version. Thus, the input will come with version 1.3 Firefly of 109 HP, with a choice of manual or AT-GSR, 5 gears.

-The top-of-the-line 1.8 E-TorQ, 139 HP, should come only with the 6-speed automatic

- Unveil of the Sedan to happen in late 2017, with sale in Q1-2018.

- VW -Virtus( Vento) will be the main competition to the FIAT sedan.

For me it looks like a VW from front and a Honda from rear. Hope that the engineers didn't get "inspired" from the two.

Tail lamps look more like picked up from the previous gen Maserati Quattroporte.

There's definitely some family inspiration being taken from the Quattroporte.

Not able to find a reason to buy a car that looks like this, over the Japanese, Korean or German cars available...

So basically Suzuki is starting to make cars that look more European and FIAT is trying to make cars that look more Kor-penese.

Re: Fiat could replace Linea with Aegea or Grand Siena

From the look and size of it, FIAT could do a KAPTUR by retaining the linea platform and give it new exteriors/interiors. I am not sure if they will spend on getting new platforms here.

Re: Fiat could replace Linea with Aegea or Grand Siena

Thanks Volkman10 for pics. Hope that FCA will launch X6S/Argo in India - eagerly awaiting. I owned Fiat Uno 15 yrs back and have driven Palio owned by a friend. Both were the best in segment, for driving pleasure during that period. Fiat lost their plot in India primarily due to poor ASS. But, of late I dont hear much complaints from Fiat owners so I guess they have turned around their ASS after their re-entry few years back. Also, with Jeep Compass in picture, I hope FCA has enough reasons/means to beef up their ASS.

While we hope FCA will launch Argo in India, even there is some earth moving reason that prevents them launch Argo in India, FCA should at least bring in auto gearbox for Linea. Agreed that Linea has aged. But, at 11.5 L OTR (I checked Jan this year, hope it has not changed a lot) for top end Emotion, it is simply the BEST in class - 125 PS Tjet + All Disc brakes + Rain sensing wipers + Leather seats. Vento TSI comes close, but it does not have 'rear discs' and is 3 L costlier. Auto transmission was the ONLY reason I ditched Linea with a heavy heart.

So, worst case, if FCA cannot bring Argo into India, they should bring in the ZF autobox (brought for Compass) for Linea - even it pushes the price by 1.5 L, at 13 L Linea will still be great buy as a 'all round C segment car' with 'driving pleasure'.
