Fiat needs to develop a platform specifically for Asian markets. And push out a hatch, sedan, mini sedan, mini SUV, MUV for bread and butter and volumes.

They can then go crazy and bring low volume vehicles by up selling existing customers.

They are capable of doing that. Seeing the number if variants of punto/linea worldwide. With tyres ranging from 14 inches to 17 inches on the same car.

re: Fiat could replace Linea with Aegea or Grand Siena

The Aegea is looking like the current gen Verna from the front 3 quarters, maybe due to the creases on the bonnet. Or is it just me who is visualising this!!

re: Fiat could replace Linea with Aegea or Grand Siena

Aegea is stunning and Grand Siena is like a patch work. Wish Aegea comes with Auto gears in 1.4 turbo petrol and 1.5 or 1.6 diesel.
If they can do as I wish then I will sure to replace my six and half years old Linea.

re: Fiat could replace Linea with Aegea or Grand Siena

From the brazil site, it looks like siena and grand siena are positioned in below the Linea. That being the case, it's seems highly doubtful that Fiat will replace the current Linea with the Grand Siena in India. It could be that they are planning to replace the older Linea classic with Grand Siena. And Aegea maybe the replacement for the current Linea. Atleast that would make sense!

Totally agreed. That looks pretty much the case.

re: Fiat could replace Linea with Aegea or Grand Siena

The Grand Sienna would make absolutely no sense for the Indian market and seems like step down from the current Linea.
Am desperately hoping they bring in the Aegea. I think it looks absolutely stunning. I, for one, would definitely upgrade from my Punto to the Aegea should they bring it to the Indian market.

Being a ex-owner of 1st generation Linea, I would advice them to heavily upgrade the linea with gizmos and throw in a automatic turbo petrol and 1.6 MJD and concentrate on building a good service network rather, than bringing a stupid model and get out of the country.

re: Fiat could replace Linea with Aegea or Grand Siena

Fiat needs to be making bold moves to carve out a decent piece of the pie for itself. To quote Tony Stark - "You are tip-toeing when you need to strut!"

Lord knows when they will swallow the bitter pill and understand that they are not meant for the rat race of volumes. They need to cater to a niche set of individuals. Ones who are about perfomance (lord knows they have the engines & the tech) and see automobiles as an extension of themselves and not a drab A to B tools. They need to invest time here and take a few hits in the chin; while making sure their existing service standards are top notch (experience as well as cost)

The good word will spread, and thats when they can hold their heads up high. They need to come out as game changers. They need to give the market beautiful potent toys without costing an arm and a leg

Cars like the Siena twins must meet the same fate as below:

With the new linea not even on the horizon, booked the current gen linea. Delivery expected in the next 2-3 days. Hope fiat gives a good upgrade option in the next 4-5 years.

The GS is definitely a couple of steps Backwards, even compared to the current Linea.

Fiat, please do not shoot yourself in the foot !

Aegea based sedan spotted testing. (http://www.autocarindia.com/auto-new...ed-397337.aspx)

This would be a great replacement for the Linea. It will definitely much better than the Grand Siena.

re: Fiat could replace Linea with Aegea or Grand Siena

Apologies for bouncing the thread, did we get any info on the Linea replacement from Fiat. Saw this video of EGEA in YouTube and was blown away.

The car looks really smashing. Hope India gets this.

re: Fiat could replace Linea with Aegea or Grand Siena

Isn't it possible that Fiat launches 'both' Siena and Egea.

One to compete with CS segment and one with Proper Sedan segment.

I am sure guys at Fiat India are sensible enough not to destroy the Legacy of Linea by replacing it with Siena.

BTW is it Egea or Aegea ?
