The Nexon really stands out in traffic. If you think it looks like an Indica/Vista you need your eyes checked. Or your attitude.
Exactly what I said when I was sitting in the Vista and the Nexon was right next to me. It has got street presence.

Am surprised to hear that the engines arent up to class standards in terms of performance, Tata really needs to get some pep into their vehicles.

Couldn't the old DICOR engines from the Safari Storme have been used ?
Read Steeroid's comment above.

Dual airbags and ABS are standard across variants. ISOFIX doesn't seem to be (a-la Ecosport), that's what I can understand from their presentation slide on safety.

Here's the specification from the media drive.

Neither mention about 6 airbags, if it were it would have gotten mentioned in the slide for sure. As it stands, the presence of grab handles and absence of any airbag stickers on seats confirm that Nexon is neither coming with side or curtain airbags. That means Ecosport Titanium+ is unchallenged.

What's with that silly audio warning about the drive mode selection? Sounds downright childish, when there is already a visual display of it.

The finish on the piece of plastic running through the center of the dash is stunning to say the least!

In this section of the Autocar review (above), you can clearly see Renuka's reflection on the dashboard, as if it's a painted and well detailed body panel.

The interior is top notch. Hope the exterior can draw the customers to have a look at it. This is where some Indian makers succeed. They get to save on interior costs !

Ok. But at least there isn't an option of buying a bare basic NO ABS, NO AIRBAG version.

Relax, it can be Switched off.

What I particularly like is the generous Width of the car rather than increasing its height compared to the Brezza and the Ecosport. It will do wonders for the visual stance of the vehicle.

And the RIDE QUALITY seems to be the best of the Lot..!!

My other source of good reviews apart from team bhp. Quiet honest and down to earth.

He has confirmed that ABS and dual airbags are standard . Definitely a great move 👍

As per one of the reviews, the audio warning can be turned off.

re: The Tata Nexon, now launched at Rs. 5.85 lakhs

After watching few reviews online and reading comments here I can say that the Nexon is going to be a huge success for Tata. I could see the reviewers are trying hard to find fault with the car and coming out with different opinions with no common answer. I am thoroughly impressed with the Nexon and I am sure Tata will get the 'introductory pricing' spot on. When Tata's journey started with the Horizonext strategy back in 2013 with late Mr.Karl Slym, one could clearly see the leap ahead in product competence with every new launch starting from the Bolt to the Hexa and now the Nexon.

Some review points that caught my attention:
  • Interior plastics quality is on par with the competition
  • Looks wider that the Ecosport and Brezza
  • Ride quality is excellent
  • Seats provide excellent support
  • Long list of features
  • Diesel engine is refined even at high revs
  • Handling is excellent
  • Lots of storage space all around
  • Inconsistent panel gaps (exterior) in some places

Exactly my same view.

The Tiago almost convinced me but for its refinement level which I thought wasn't there yet. Looks like with the Nexon that has been taken care of.

For Once the Nexon (a Tata Product) Looks to be Desirable than its competition. And that is something is the Specially Worth Mentioning.

With the Nexon's reviews out after the media drive, it would appear that Tata has a winner on hand, for which i sure hope they have a killer pricing. They need it very badly.

You are talking about the post facelift Ecosport - or the ones which were released in the recent upgrade with the DRL

The most important part of the AutoPortal review IMO. Finally, a comparison to show the stance against the main arch rival -

The current one. Not the facelift that is currently being tested.

re: The Tata Nexon, now launched at Rs. 5.85 lakhs

I was trying to put the Nexon's size into perspective and also compare it against the Ecosport and the Vitara Brezza. Hence captured some screens from Autoportal's reviews.

(And please remember, his height for reference is 5'10" )

The Vitara feels the largest due to it's boxier design. The Nexon appears to be that bit larger than the Ecosport due to it's muscular design elements.

You be the judge!
