Which price bracket is this being targeted at ? Even Compact SUVs are coming with option of 6 airbags these days !

2016 version of MUX sold in Australia came with 6 airbags and inbuilt navigation. The warranty offered was for 5 years. And if I remember correctly, the top variant (3 Ltr LST 4X4) cost less than the entry level Ambient variant (Variant with lower features than Trend variant on sale in India) of Ford Endeavour.

Hard to understand why Isuzu is cutting down on vital features here in the Indian market?

I think the reason is the Isuzu mgmt. in India. They would have made a case for super normal profits by removing the stuff considered essential in the West.

What they are overlooking is the fate of Trailblazer here. Even though its a Thailand made CBU having a better engine/specs, its hardly moving even after cutting the price to 19.95 lacs.

Isuzu might suffer the same fate if they dont price it aggressively here

For the people looking at the 2WD MU-X, do take a look at the Chevy Trailblazer too. Pretty much the same car, with an even more powerful engine. Even the interior layout is so similar

Edit: My bad, missed the whole page where the Trailblazer has been discussed in great detail.

For the 19.9 lacs, This opens up a whole new segment. With Innova, Hexa, XUV, Trailblazer and even endeavour which is somehow the cheapest in its automatic 2.2 form. That's wide variety of choices

Trailblazer does not seem to be available in the market. Tried calling two Chennai dealers, one did not even return the call and another said Trailblazer not available till July.

The launch of the MU-X is supposed to be today. Any information yet on the price and other details?
Looks like they are not going in for a media launch and are probably doing a soft launch with price and specs announcement.
The website www.isuzumux.in is supposed to be the official website of the MUX, but hasn't gone live yet.

Isuzu MUX 2WD priced at ₹ 23.99 lakh; 4WD ₹ 25.99 lakh ex Del.

Isuzu didn't learn from Trailblazer experience and will have to learn the hard way!!! May be forced to reduce prices by 2-3 lacs in next 4-5 months, it seems

24 L for the 2WD AT. the endeavour trend 2.2 AT retails for 26.6. anyone in this price bracket wouldn't mind spending an extra 2 lakh odd and getting the ford. I'm afraid the MU-X is DoA. Isuzu had a brilliant opportunity for predatory pricing. Start it at 19.9L and once there is some market acceptance, increase the price citing "rising input costs".

Ford Endeavor 3.2 Trend AT 4x4 is priced at 27.9L ex-showroom Delhi.
1.9L > than MuX

2.2 Trend AT 4x2 is priced at 26.6l ex-showroom Delhi.
2.7L > MuX

Honestly were expecting better price from Isuzu for the MuX. At this price why buy it over the Ford?

The website www.isuzumux.in is now live with all the details.

Yup, 1.9 Lacs is not a difference justifiable for buying Isuzu instead of an Endeavour. Ford is far more respected in India and has a good dealer presence all over India. Isuzu barely has presence in 21 cities!
I wish that they could have learnt from the Trailblazer Fiasco :Frustrati:deadhorse

Seeing the Prices of the MUX, the Innova Crysta now feels good value for money!!

Time to write some obituaries. The only thing that comes to mind is " Dead on Arrival". With Endeavour being so closely priced, it would hardly find any takers.
Seriously, what was the Isuzu management thinking?

Not just the price, even the AD is stupid from Isuzu. Putting a senior citizen in a cramped 3rd row seats and giving spacious seats to kids:Frustrati

One minute silence for Isuzu please.

Not only have they launched a pre-facelift version so late in its lifecycle, they've priced it so close to the established Endeavour and Fortuner! This is definitely a double disadvantage for anybody who is well informed.

The least they could have done is put in a tasty introductory pricing to sell it initially and get a good word of mouth out for their product. Because now as i see it, even if it is a great product, I don't want to take a gamble over a savings of barely 5 percent off the price.

Ford is selling on a average 400-500 per month. Max Isuzu can expect is 100 - 200 units. So whether they price it around 20L or how they have priced it now it is not going to make any difference. I guess Isuzu got it right with the pricing.
