Tata H7X SUV with 3 row seating spied on test in Ooty!

In terms of launch date, the H5X 5 seater SUV will launch in India in fiscal 2018-19 while the 7 seater H7X could launch sometime at the end of 2019. Once officially launched, Tata H7X SUV will compete with Toyota Fortuner, Honda CRV 7-seater, Ford Endeavour

The rushlane photo shows a TN license plate, whereas the other pictures of the H5X and H7X all had MH plates. Is this some other manufacturer ( Mahindra ?? )

Number is TN 37, that is Coimbatore where Jayem Automotive is located. They do performance test/tuning of Tata cars/components.

They do, a lot of the track time in Kari is booked out for them to test Tata vehicles

Um, I don't see any similarities whatsoever.! Given that these are SUVs, the profile is bound to look similar but other than I don't see anything else.

Tata Motors will also launch new variants of its Hexa to ensure all its brands are active in the market before H5X SUV hits the market in the last quarter of FY19.

That means it will launch somewhere in FY 2020.

So that they can give ample time to M&M so that they can launch the XUV 300 to 700 and saturate the market between the Creta and the Fortuner. Why Tata? Please launch the H5X & H7X in 2019 or even the best product will struggle in a saturated market.

One clarification - all the test mules seen on the roads till now are of the 7-seater twin, which we refer to as the H7X. These test mules are powered by Fiat's 2.0L MJD II.

The 5-seater H5X test mule prototype is currently under construction. It is yet to hit the public roads for testing runs.

With those huge wheel arches and that sloping rear glass, that is going to be one tight 3rd row seat in there. Also the rising belt-line will make it all the more clautraphobic for the last row occupants.

That one was definitely the 5 seater - hence H5X. The road worthy prototype of the same, with minor edits and practical changes is the one that's probably getting ready.

But this makes me wonder why they did not show the bigger twin at Auto Expo. Not that good looking, eh?
