Discount season.

The calendar year end is here again which means discounts go high in the auto market. Most showrooms give out big discounts during this time as people wait until Jan to have the car dated a year ahead. Do post in the discounts that you have heard of late, this thread will help all fellow car shoppers to judge their bargaining power.

You can expect discounts of 30-40 K for a B and B+ segment. It makes sense to go and avail these discounts and take the car at the year end. Approximately resale value difference between Dec x and Jan Y (next year model car) would be 20-25 K. Hence nothing there to lose.

Also you can book the car to avail the discount and regd the car in 2006 which has little bit advantage on it.

If the discount is less than 30K, it is better to wait and take the delivery next year.

Tata Motors on Safari Dicor - a poor 11000/- Rupees with scratch card (You can expect 1000 Rs to 1 Million Rs.). But yesterday at Bhandari's in Pune...the highest price was 3000/- Rs.

That is probably the best thing to do from a cost perspective. You get the current discounts as well as get a somewhat higher resale.
Book the car during Dec 3rd / 4th week , get delivery during last week of December (in which case wait till Jan for regn) or get delivery during first week of Jan and register it then ..

Thats what we always do...did it with my Accord in 2003... negoiated the discount end 2002 and took delivery on Jan 10th...same with the endeavour, pick it up on 31st dec 2004 no discount since it was a new car, took a VIP number plate and registered it after a week.
Guys, try and quote discounts of substantical amounts which have been quoted to you or u r frnds by the showroom dealers.

80k discount on innova

Hi

I am getting 80,000 discount on Innova in Bangalore. You can either get 80k off straightaway and take the rest at 9.5% finance or pay 15% upfront and get the rest at 0.6% finance over 36 months (works out to 80000 off). The later option is better obviously

I am choosing a G2 diesel

On road price was 6.53L including life tax, insurance, extended warrenty, (dealer discount 50K, corporate 10K, special gift cheque for 12K ) on the whole i paid 5.81 on road, if i had taken Balck i would've got another 10K discount, i think that 12K was the year end offer.

whoa! 72k??? this is better than the offer they had on the older baleno when the "new" baleno was being launched.

Really! that's cool.I would have thought it would have been the other way round. Is the demand for black colour very less??

The smart thing could have been to take black. Get additional 10K discount. Put fatter tyres and alloys. Black baleno sure does look hot!

But Congrats on your purchase. 5.81L on road is very good value for an excellent car. Happy driving.

Thank you imjimmy, i must say thanks for the whole forum, which helped me in taking this decision, i've been following this forum for more than a year , in AP many people would not prefer black colour, i had already put in fatter tyres, alloys and sony DVD. finance i got for 6.5% diminishing.
