The Renault Triber gets it's own webpage as well,

I hope that by "Ultra Modular" they mean that it has Split Backrest like in Ertiga etc., unlike the Datsun Go Plus which has Bench Folding Seatbacks.

Wonder how would a Sub 4m car be "Super Spacious"? And how will it be "defining a new segment" as they're saying, cause it (sub 4m 5+ seaters) was already started by Omni, Versa, Eeco, Venture and Go Plus. Awaiting more details in the days ahead...

So essentially, this would rival what? the Eeco? Well maybe yes!

What I really liked about this vehicle is the interior from one of the spy shots, with most of the switchgear, steering wheel and some more stuff from the Captur and oh yes! Front side airbags are likely to come too, along with dual front which would be segment first, especially when Maruti has just added a single airbag NOW in the Eeco after so long.

AFAIK Ultra Modular signifies complete removal of 3rd row seats , for accommodating luggage and vice versa.

Expecting the last row to be made of ultra thin foam, for children only types.

Since the Renault RBC launch quite later this year, it might not have any direct rivals. In terms of price, as mentioned from others above, its bracket price would be from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 7.50 lakh. Obviously, this SUV is expected to sit between the Datsun GO+ (price range: Rs 3.83 lakh - Rs 5.69 lakh) and the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga (price range: Rs 7.44 lakh - Rs 10.90 lakh).

Finally the car seems to have been revealed in the new video added above. Looks like a smaller Renault Scenic to me. Or has the YouTuber added the Triber's video with something from Renault Scenic's international advertisement?

Rumour: Renault Triber to get modular 3rd-row seats

Thanks to the Team-BHP fan (he prefers to remain anonymous) who sent this information in. Heartfelt gratitude for sharing it with other enthusiasts via this page!

Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs-rbc.jpg

Last week, Renault announced that its upcoming sub-4 meter MPV will be called Triber. Now, more details have emerged about the new model that is scheduled to be launched in the second half of this year.

The Renault Triber will feature three rows of seats. The third row is likely to be made up of two separate seats which can be removed, thus transforming the car into a 5, 6 or 7-seater as required. The third row is also expected to have a 50:50 split, which would help increase the luggage space without removing the seats entirely.

The Renault Triber (codenamed: RBC) is expected to be based on the CMF-A+ platform. It could be powered by a tuned 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine from the Kwid paired with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT. Spy images suggest that the higher variants of the Triber could get a touchscreen infotainment system and side airbags.

1.0L engine will be dead on arrival. It is just sufficient for the Kwid / Redi-Go which are compact and can seat 4~5.

So 1.0L maybe true but not the NA engine but with a Turbo / Turbo GDi engine.
Considering that Renault will need to keep the prices lower than the Ertiga, the 1.0L Turbo makes more sense (IMHO)

I still cannot believe Renault thinks there exist a 'cheap' MPV segment. The Datsun Go+ failed, the Chevrolet Enjoy, the Ashok Leyland Stile, Renault Lodgy all these cars failed.
In India, the cheapest an MPV can be made and sold is the Maruti Ertiga. It offers good value, average quality and decent space. Anything cheaper or lesser than the Ertiga is bound to fail.

For Renault to succeed, they should stop the cheap Made for India cars and Dacia stuff, instead bring the Grand Scenic with all the whistles and bells. The Grand Scenic will not beat Innova, but they will still be able to sell more number of Grand Scenics than these Made For India cars.

To make things worse, Citroen is planning their entry, and unlike Renault, they plan to launch proper French cars.

There is one car you are ignoring which is Eeco which costs just around half a million and manage a sales figure of around 10,000 units per month.
Let's assume that out of those 10k units, 3k units will be bought by personal car buyers and rest by commercial buyers, then that 3k is a good sales figure for Renault. Also, Renault would be eying to convert compact sedan buyers by giving them a 'virtually' bigger car for same price.

Datsun Go+ failed because of Datsun sharing the floor space with Nissan - a brand which doesn't have good reputation in India as off today.
Lodgy failed because of its looks and lack of features.
It's better we don't talk about Chevy Enjoy or rather Chevy brand altogether.

Looking at current 'leaked' feature list and 'speculated' sub 10 lakh rupee pricing, I won't be surprised if the Triber manages to clock average monthly sales figure of around 4,000-5,000 units.

Let's see how it unfolds.

But this doesn't target the Eeco. Infact there are variants of the Eeco which are cheaper than the Kwid. This is supposed to be a more expensive MPV based on the Kwid. I believe it will be priced just under the Ertiga.

The Ertiga is cheaper than the Ciaz but still the Ciaz sells decently. The customer of an MPV is unique, he won't look elsewhere. The compact sedans will be unaffected.

I agree, but Grand Scenic may not please all with its looks and buyers may go against it. Even though Duster is much older than Captur, people still likes that way Duster looks !

Cartoq has released a speculative render of the Triber based on the Official Sketch Release from Renault

here

Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs-screenshot_20190410195255.png

To me it looks like they just slapped the front of Kwid on the Lodgy (reduced the frame to make it look under 4m in length) and just tweaked the rear based on the design sketches.
