I wasn't aware such engineering feats existed in the sub 4m world. Truly, this is a device for enemies.

But what is the intent for such a horrible vehicle? Did they not check the sales charts of these vehicles and what made them think they are gonna set the charts on fire with this new also-ran? It can't ever replace an Omni / Eeco. So that's out. The market it's fighting in is also covered by the loser-bins of other manufacturers. So, instead of doing something with their Captur or Duster, they decided that this was the best use of their time?

Wow.

re: Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs

Team BHP's very own SRK (Shoeb R Kalania) has given a render of Renault RBC Compact MPV through IndianAutosBlog website based on Renault's design language and taking inputs from the Renault RBC test mule spotted last week.

Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs-renault-rbc-render-srk.jpg

Somehow, it looks larger than 4m in the render in this side profile to me. Some inspiration is from newly launched Suzuki Ertiga also I suppose. The side profile looks like from a bigger MPV with a prominent shoulder line at the rear.

Quote:
The front end is reminiscent of current Renault models like the Kwid and Koleos. It gets a similar grille and headlamp layout and a nose that, unlike MPVs, sits very upright. Lower down, there are LED DRLs placed in the bumper as seen on the test mule. The MPV has a generous DLO with a window line that rises upwards. While the Kwid rides on 13-inch rims, expect Renault to upsize them to 14 or 15-inch units for the MPV.

Inside, the basic dashboard layout could be quite similar to the Kwid. Like the Captur and Kwid, the Renault RBC is expected to get a semi-digital instrument console. Renault's MediaNAV touchscreen AVN is likely to find a place in the centre console. Top-end variants of the Renault compact MPV may get features like automatic climate control with vents for all three rows.

It will be underpinned by the CMF-A+ platform, which has been derived from the Kwid's CMF-A platform. The wheelbase of the RBC will be longer than that of the Kwid. However, overall length will still be under 4 m in order to qualify as a small car. Unlike the Datsun GO+, which is a sub-4 m MPV as well, the RBC is likely to have a more spacious and usable third row.

The launch of the Renault RBC could take place before the end of 2018 as the company has promised a new car every year. Keeping its sub-4 m dimensions in mind, the MPV is likely to rival base variants of the Maruti Ertiga and the upcoming Maruti Wagon R+ (7-seat Wagon R). It may be priced in the INR 6-8 lakhs (ex-showroom) space, which will make it an indirect rival to premium hatchbacks like the Maruti Baleno, Hyundai i20, and Ford Figo.

re: Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs

The segment itself is not so popular; coupled with petrol only option would make it difficult for Renault to generate healthy sales. It might cannibalize Duster being sub 4 meter. Urban city only customers might prefer it for lower price and smaller parking area required.

Scoop! Renault RBC sub-4 m MPV spotted

Thanks to Universal Mohan for sending these images in. Heartfelt gratitude for sharing it with other enthusiasts via this Team-BHP page!

Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs-img_20180906_173349317_hdr.jpg

A test mule of Renault's upcoming sub-4 m MPV (Codenamed: RBC) has been spotted in Oragadam near the Renault-Nissan manufacturing facility. The spy images don't reveal many details apart from its unmistakable MPV side profile.

Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs-img_20180906_173348190.jpg

The heavily camouflaged test mule appears to have a set of wraparound headlamps with a slightly pronounced front grille. At the rear, it has wraparound tail lamp clusters with a high-mounted stop lamp at the top of the tailgate. The vehicle is seen running on steel wheels and tyres, which look rather puny for its size.

Reports suggest that the new MPV is likely to be based on Renault's CMF-A+ platform. It could be powered by a turbocharged 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder engine based on the one offered in the Kwid.

re: Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs

I don't think k that it is true, but a report on Rushlane suggests that the Renault RBC would compete with the Ertiga, and will be almost as big. (Source)

Quote:
Renault India is actively testing the new MPV which is codenamed RBC as on date. Spy shots of this made-for-India car first emerged earlier this year. Due for launch in 2019, the low cost MPV has been spied once again.

The latest spy shots were shared by auto enthusiast Aravind Siddaarth T K on Rushlane Spylane. This spy shot gives an idea about the car’s size while on public road.

Renault RBC is expected to be larger than the Maruti Ertiga. It could be positioned on a modified version of Renault Kwid CMF-A platform which will be called CMF-A+. It will get a longer wheelbase resulting in a more spacious cabin. It will also allow for a generous 3rd row.

Spied testing in Chennai, the MPV could get Kwid inspired styling cues. These include Kwid like headlamps and grille design. RBC MPV is taller with a longer. A spacious interior with an attractive design is also expected while heavy localization will result in more attractive pricing.

In view of increased safety features being a major selling point, Renault could add driver and co driver seat belt reminders, dual airbags, ABS with EBD and speed alert system as standard on the RBC MPV.

Renault RBC will be offered with petrol and diesel engine options. These could be same as the one’s being offered on the Duster. Petrol variant delivers 106 PS and 145 Nm while diesel delivers 110 PS and 240 Nm. Expect pricing to be in the region of Rs 7- 11 lakhs for this 7 seater MPV.

Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs-img_20181222_132516566_hdr.jpg

Earlier this year, Renault's upcoming sub-4 meter MPV (Codename: RBC) was spotted near Chennai. The car was recently spotted on Jaipur bypass and the latest spy images have revealed the MPV's interiors.

Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs-img_20181222_132512086.jpg

It has a dual-tone dashboard with silver trim and a touchscreen infotainment system in the centre. The 3-spoke steering wheel also has silver inserts, while the instrument cluster housing has chrome trim on the sides. The gear lever also has chrome inserts, and the AC vents on the extreme ends get chrome trim. This particular test vehicle appears to have electric ORVMs as well. The MPV comes with dual-tone fabric seats with fixed headrests and pull-up type door locks. It appears to get a split glovebox. Safety features include side airbags.

The Renault RBC is expected to be based on the CMF-A+ platform. Media reports suggest that it could be offered with a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine based on the one that powers the Kwid.

Is it just me, or can anyone else see the gear lever is of the AMT version as in Datsun Redi-GO!

Good to see Manual Day/Night IRVM, Touchscreen Infotainment System (sans Steering Mounted Controls), Rear Washer-Wiper-Defogger.

I can only see Dual Front Airbags, the A-Pillar lacks the side airbags markings.

Can the spotter confirm if it is indeed a sub 4 meter car or bigger like the older Ertiga?

Just saw that, and this is a welcome addition with respect to the level of safety Renault is trying to address here, after the Kwid and Duster fiasco. Even the Datsun Go+ and the New 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga lack these.

I guess we can safely assume that it will be much higher positioned than Go+ and slot in between the top variants of Go+ and lower or mid variants of Ertiga.

Any information whether it is Indeed a sub 4 meter vehicle or as big as the old Ertiga?

All-new MPV from Renault will take on the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and will be based on CMF-A architecture

Powering this new MPV will be the same 1.0-litre petrol engine as on the Kwid but it will use a turbocharger for extra power. The model is expected to come with a five-speed manual as well as an AMT gearbox.

Can't help notice those skinny tyres in the pictures. Anyways, can't really complain as this will most probably rival the GO+ as well and will sit below Ertiga in the pricing game.

Datsun has not been much successful with the GO+ (Average 500-600 units a month) but for Renault it could be a little different. The Kwid is already selling in decent numbers and Duster has given them some recognition as a brand.

AMT is on offer and this could be to create a differentiation with the GO/GO+ when their CVT versions are launched in 2020 (still doubtful though).
