Well if that is the case they should bring their latest iteration which I assume is closer to BS6 compliance and if not will at least ensure whatever they do to comply is for the longer haul if they upgrade their latest offering to BS6.

Also, While I do take your point from isuzu perspective - as a dealer for isuzu who I am sure were sold their india story when isuzu entered, I would still be upset if I barely had one model to sell for more than a year.

Actually I also think / hope / wonder as a company they may even have provided some basic financial support to the dealers if they could not bring their models here for such a long time. Wonder if that would be the case

Agreed, they should have got the new iteration. But that might be taking even longer. So Isuzu might have though to get the ball rolling by at least getting a BS6 compliant engine first and then test and homologate the new version.

Regarding dealer concern I can understand what you say, but since dealership business is not so easy to wind up, it may make sense for them to continue for a short while with losses than to write off !

I doubt manufacturers provide financial support to keep dealer business alive as dealers is responsible to run their individual business. But they might have provided monetary support to liquidate their long holding inventory in the form of discounts for consumers.

Not true they have BS6 versions selling in other countries. It would not have been difficult to introduce it here. I feel they were just caught napping.

The new version is not a facelift it is the all new V-cross from scratch. Isuzu being just 5 odd years old in India is not mainstream yet. The dyes of the old generation V-cross are still new and cost of the same needs to be recovered.

If it's not now I don't see the all new V-cross and MUX launching before 2022 festive season.

Isuzu V-Cross BS6 spotted testing

Isuzu V-Cross BS6 test mules have been spotted testing. The pickup could be launched as early as next month.

From the spy images, it is likely that the BS6-compliant V-Cross would be powered by a 1.9-litre turbocharged Diesel engine. This engine was offered with the automatic variants of the V-Cross facelift before the implementation of new emission norms. You can also spot the Ddi badge on the vehicles. Apart from the new engine and/or transmission, there are no changes in the car.

In October 2020, Isuzu launched the BS6 compliant commercial vehicle range.

The BS4 V-Cross was offered with a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that produced 134 BHP and 320 Nm. It was paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. It was also offered with a 1.9-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that produced 148 BHP and 350 Nm of torque and was paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

I checked this news and hope they launch the top end variant. Don't know if the price will be higher this time. Some welcome changes are -

Approach angle - 30.5 degrees
Break over/ramp over angle - 23.8 degrees
Departure angle - 24.2 degrees
Ground clearance mm - 240mm
Wading depth - 800mm

A few more pictures of the two Vcross’s under testing. Looked exactly the same as previous gen except for the new Ddi badge at the rear.

Saw both the Isuzus coming out from ARAI premises today in the morning. Plus one parked just outside their premises.

What a bummer. Where's the next gen V-Cross? Why are we fed old car models when the whole world is enjoying new ones.

Old gen Polo, old gen Duster and now old gen V-Cross. Why we are being given old gen models??

Re: Isuzu D-Max V-Cross 1.9L 4x4 AT spied. EDIT : Now Launched at Rs. 19.99 lakhs

If they are still going to launch another old variant with some rework done then it will not make any sense to buy this variant. I've waiting for so long now to get a 4x4 which can easily seat 5 and has good boot space. Given by the spy shots shared, it doesn't seems like Isuzu prioritises Indian Market that much. Seems like we'll get the next gen V Cross by maybe 2022 or 2023.

Isuzu D-Max V-Cross Automatic spotted testing

A test mule of the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross has been spotted testing again. But, this time, it's the 6-speed automatic variant.

Isuzu D-Max V-Cross 1.9L 4x4 AT spied. EDIT : Now Launched at Rs. 19.99 lakhs-fb_img_1616653597374.jpg

In India, Isuzu will offer the pre-facelift version of the D-Max V-Cross. It looks identical to the BS4 version that was on sale earlier. The interior hasn't changed either. It has a black dashboard with a touchscreen in the centre and a conventional twin-dial instrument cluster.

The D-Max V-Cross BS4 was offered with two diesel engine options - a 2.5-litre producing 134 BHP / 320 Nm and a 1.9-litre unit with 148 HP / 350 Nm. While the 2.5-litre engine came with a 5-speed manual transmission, it was the latter that came with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The upcoming V-Cross is expected to be offered with a BS6-compliant 1.9-litre diesel engine paired with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed AT. It could also get all-wheel drive and a low-range gearbox option.

Thanks to Lucky Singh for sending these images in. Heartfelt gratitude for sharing them with other enthusiasts via this Team-BHP page!

Re: Isuzu D-Max V-Cross 1.9L 4x4 AT spied. EDIT : Now Launched at Rs. 19.99 lakhs

Isuzu does have some of the best offerings yet fail to capitalize on it. Not launching the facelift, still the same stark interiors is a bit disappointing. A wafer thin dealership network even in the main cities adds to their problems. The Mux too is a capable product and if they priced it at say the same price as a top end Innova it would sell well.

High time they launched the new model.

Anyone buying this vehicle would look at retaining it for a long duration (>5 years)

Why would you buy an older model with poor features, at the normal pricing?

Nissan should capitalise on their brand value and new model, to take the market by storm.

Re: Isuzu D-Max V-Cross 1.9L 4x4 AT spied. EDIT : Now Launched at Rs. 19.99 lakhs

So going by the Spy-shots, it doesn't seems like this Year ISUZU will be launching the new variant of V-Cross like it did not Australia and South East Asian countries. The out-going BS4 model was being sold for 19 Lakhs (AT version).

An online reference to the old version -

Quote:
Under the hood the ‘Z-Prestige’ variant is powered by a more powerful 1.9-litre Ddi diesel motor that makes 150PS of power and 320Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox compared to the 5-speed manual being features in the lower spec variants.

While the ‘Z-Prestige’ variant doesn’t sport any exterior changes it gets three new colour options- Sapphire Blue, Ruby Red, Pearl White and Cosmic Black. On the inside, it gets dual-tone perforated leather seats along with speakers on the roof. It also gets additional safety features like 6 airbags and Brake Override System.

Re: Isuzu D-Max V-Cross 1.9L 4x4 AT spied. EDIT : Now Launched at Rs. 19.99 lakhs

Massive miss by Isuzu by not launching the new gen model. The new one has a greatly resigned chassis, and the interior is completely new, "gizmo-loaded" and a comfortable space to be in - A stark contrast from the utilitarian interior of this (older) gen.

After watching several reviews over the past year, on SE Asian and Australian YT channels (and hoping we get the same in India soon), I have come to realise that not only is it far more comfortable on the road, but with significantly better driving dynamics as well. Its off-roadability and build quality is just as good as earlier (if not better) and overall the new gen and better-packaged V-cross is now a solid competitor to the Ford Ranger in every single aspect.

What Isuzu expects to save by not investing in launching the new gen V-Cross will be (expectedly) lost in overall sales figures that would've been the case had they brought it.

I cannot think of anyone getting the old one, as over 99% customers would be lifestyle buyers. Especially when you have a look at what you're missing out on with the new one.

Its time the auto cos realize that we aren't a dumping ground anymore.
