I doubt that design will make it to India. I reckon it would look more the larger version of the Venue which will be the new Creta. If Hyundai launches the above mentioned hideous contraption as the new Creta they might as well handover their Indian CUV market share to KIA on a silver platter.

I don't think this is coming to India. There are so many cars that have different looking (read over the top) version for the Chinese market. No offense it makes perfect sense from a business point of view in the Chinese market.

Having said that, at least from the pictures, it looks a weird combination of Buick, Lincoln and some Chinese brand (including toys with excess chrome) at front and Skoda, Audi, Renault, Volvo and many more at the rear.

I pray it doesn't come to India as is.

Although Hyundai could make some changes to the Creta for India, I doubt it would be significant. The overall design language may not change, it might be just knocking off some over the top elements that could be done. Somehow I feel that the design does not see cohesive, so whatever Hyundai does to this, it would still end up looking bad.

I have a 2018, pre-facelift Creta, I feel that this is the best iteration of all the three. Hopefully the resale value of my 2018 Creta will improve once Hyundai launches this horrible looking one in 2020!

I think Hyundai has hired a rolling shutter guy to design the new front grille! Especially in the upcoming Venue!!
What I mean is, these types of rolling shutters

It is getting uglier day by day with the over use of Chrome and the multiple headlights and tail lights. Any particular reason for having the the Split headlight cluster (Tata Harrier as well) or is it just for aesthetic reasons?

To me it looks more like a scaled down ugly mini bus. I was planning to upgrade from my 6.5 year old i20 to Creta, but decided to wait until next year considering Hyundai might launch the next gen Creta sometime in 2020. But if this what the new Creta is going to resemble then I am definitely going to pounce on the current gen Creta, which is the most handsome of the lot (IMO)

Hyundai in the past have toned down some of their designs for the Indian taste, for example the Santro Xing sold in the Malaysian markets as Atos had tail lights similar to the Ritz, but for India, they changed the design to something more conservative.
They also differentiate their cars from the global market, the Grand i10 sold here is bigger in the rear than the European i10. Creta being a bigseller, Hyundai must tone down the design to something more conservative. This Chinese version will not sell in India.
