Jeep Commander to start pre-sales from August 26th for the Brazilian market.

- Will be sold in 'Limited' and 'Overland' versions

- Engine 2.0 Turbodiesel will have 38 kgf-m of torque( the power should remain same) being christened the TD380.The transmission is the automatic nine-speed and 4×4 traction.

- The Commander 2022 flex will be equipped with 1.3 Turbo Flex engine that will be called the T270. The propellant has power of 180 hp with gasoline and 185 hp with ethanol. Torque is 27.5 kgfm. The engine works in conjunction with the six-speed automatic transmission.

Overall the Commander looks smart and properly differentiates itself from its younger brother rather than being just another stretched version. If i am not mistaken the width appears to be more or less similar to the compass which is not helping in terms of cabin room. Definitely longer and also felt like it's matching crysta/xuv5oo in terms of height from one of those spy videos.

Jeep branding, Premium interiors, powerful engine, monocoque/unibody, 7 seats, a worthy contender to Fortuner/Endeavour at even 50L. Jeep has a good image in India especially as a offroader. Folks who need Body on frame will stick to Toyota/Endeavour, for rest this is an excellent option given Skoda/VW has stopped selling Diesel.

Maybe it's just me but this looks awkward. It's something to do with the headlights and the rear lower bumper section that makes it look aged already.

As much as I like the front, Jeep have managed to make it equally ugly at the rear. It looks like one of the Nissan SUVs available in USA with that rear overhang and those tail-lamps. I really do hope this is not the final product.

P.S: Interiors do look good though.

Though the front looks imposing, the curves on the rear suggest the design language of a minivan, maybe because of the bland, incomplete looks. As soon as I saw the pictures, I couldn't help but relate its rear to that of a Honda Odyssey's or a Toyota Sienna's.
It overall definitely looks aged and boring for a vehicle that would be priced north of 35 lakhs.

I absolutely love the tail lights. In a world of oversized tail lights wrapping around all the way to the quarter panel below the C pillar (XUV700, ahem!) this looks absolutely fabulous. I hope this trend catches on and we see more of the smaller tail lights with brighter LEDs around.

Looks much nicer than I imagined it would be. But considering it will be much smaller than Endeavour/MU-X/Fortuner, I would think it would not be particularly competitive unless it is substantially lower priced. But going by how Jeep pricing is, I doubt it. So they might end up pricing it close to Endeavour etc, but not sure that would work. The one I am really looking forward to is the new MU-X, which seems quite good, with rear diff lock, to boot. But Isuzu seems to be dozing, so :

How would customers in india compare this with kodiaq?. I felt that would be more comparable on size and performance rather than fortuner and endeavour.. again, assuming pricing would also be comparable. Another dimension is the availability of diesel on Meridien which is missing on kodiaq

Saw a few test mules of Jeep Compass and Commander testing around Manali this afternoon. Sorry for the blurred images, hopefully will have clearer shots tomorrow on my drive around for some work through my dash camera.

A few had DRLs above the headlights, and a few didn't. Didn't check for alloy wheels or other details. Looked long like the old Endeavour, rather than Safari or XUV700 long.

Seems as wide as the Compass with a little more height, probably for better head room for the last row occupants. Looks more like a lengthened Compass to me.

You misunderstood, it's longer than 700 or Safari and more like the Endeavour, Alturas length of SUVs.

Commander Limited T270 1.3 turboflex AT6 (R$ 199,990): Comes equipped with full-LED headlights, 100% digital instrument panel of 10.25", multimedia center with 10.1" screen, leather and black suede seats, 7 airbags, trunk with electric opening and 18-inch alloy wheels. It also has adaptive speed controller, automatic emergency braking, traffic plate reader, fatigue detector, track maintenance assistant, blind spot alert, automatic high beam, wireless cell phone charger, cableless smartphone mirroring, TC+ traction control and Adventure Intelligence system.


Commander Overland T270 1.3 turboflex AT6 (R$ 219,990): Limited T270 items and 19-inch wheels, brown leather and suede seats, electric passenger seat, panoramic sunroof, face-to-face key for access and departure, Harman Kardon sound system with 9 speakers+subwoofer with 450w, lower frames and paraslin in body color, 127v socket and Adventure Intelligence system with Alexa.
