Jeep Commander to start pre-sales from August 26th for the Brazilian market.



- Will be sold in 'Limited' and 'Overland' versions

- Engine 2.0 Turbodiesel will have 38 kgf-m of torque( the power should remain same) being christened the TD380.The transmission is the automatic nine-speed and 4×4 traction.

- The Commander 2022 flex will be equipped with 1.3 Turbo Flex engine that will be called the T270. The propellant has power of 180 hp with gasoline and 185 hp with ethanol. Torque is 27.5 kgfm. The engine works in conjunction with the six-speed automatic transmission.

the main standard items of commander 2022 Limited and Overland are full LED headlights with LED signature, led fog lights Jeep Traction Control+, Auto Hold, dual zone air conditioning, electronic parking brake, Keyless Enter 'N Go system and rain and twilight sensors. The list also includes digital instrument frame and multimedia center with 10.1-inch screen.

The Limited and Overland versions of Commander will come filled with security items. Among the equipment are lane stay alert, adaptive cruise control, fatigue alert, blind spot alert, automatic emergency braking system for fixed obstacles, mobile, cyclists and pedestrians.

The commander's interior follows the Compass lines. But the brand used new coatings in the seven-seater SUV, much more exquisite than those used in the platform brother. The Commander 2022 instrument frame will be 100% digital

Overall the Commander looks smart and properly differentiates itself from its younger brother rather than being just another stretched version. If i am not mistaken the width appears to be more or less similar to the compass which is not helping in terms of cabin room. Definitely longer and also felt like it's matching crysta/xuv5oo in terms of height from one of those spy videos.

Jeep branding, Premium interiors, powerful engine, monocoque/unibody, 7 seats, a worthy contender to Fortuner/Endeavour at even 50L. Jeep has a good image in India especially as a offroader. Folks who need Body on frame will stick to Toyota/Endeavour, for rest this is an excellent option given Skoda/VW has stopped selling Diesel.

Maybe it's just me but this looks awkward. It's something to do with the headlights and the rear lower bumper section that makes it look aged already.

As much as I like the front, Jeep have managed to make it equally ugly at the rear. It looks like one of the Nissan SUVs available in USA with that rear overhang and those tail-lamps. I really do hope this is not the final product.

P.S: Interiors do look good though.

Though the front looks imposing, the curves on the rear suggest the design language of a minivan, maybe because of the bland, incomplete looks. As soon as I saw the pictures, I couldn't help but relate its rear to that of a Honda Odyssey's or a Toyota Sienna's.
It overall definitely looks aged and boring for a vehicle that would be priced north of 35 lakhs.

I absolutely love the tail lights. In a world of oversized tail lights wrapping around all the way to the quarter panel below the C pillar (XUV700, ahem!) this looks absolutely fabulous. I hope this trend catches on and we see more of the smaller tail lights with brighter LEDs around.

Looks much nicer than I imagined it would be. But considering it will be much smaller than Endeavour/MU-X/Fortuner, I would think it would not be particularly competitive unless it is substantially lower priced. But going by how Jeep pricing is, I doubt it. So they might end up pricing it close to Endeavour etc, but not sure that would work. The one I am really looking forward to is the new MU-X, which seems quite good, with rear diff lock, to boot. But Isuzu seems to be dozing, so :

How would customers in india compare this with kodiaq?. I felt that would be more comparable on size and performance rather than fortuner and endeavour.. again, assuming pricing would also be comparable. Another dimension is the availability of diesel on Meridien which is missing on kodiaq

Saw a few test mules of Jeep Compass and Commander testing around Manali this afternoon. Sorry for the blurred images, hopefully will have clearer shots tomorrow on my drive around for some work through my dash camera.















A few had DRLs above the headlights, and a few didn't. Didn't check for alloy wheels or other details. Looked long like the old Endeavour, rather than Safari or XUV700 long.

Brilliant thanks. Does it look exactly Compass width or does it look a tad wider. If its Compass width and longer I fear it may not look suitably proportionate.

On length, good to know its actually shorter than the 7OO / current Safari.

Seems as wide as the Compass with a little more height, probably for better head room for the last row occupants. Looks more like a lengthened Compass to me.

You misunderstood, it's longer than 700 or Safari and more like the Endeavour, Alturas length of SUVs.

Jeep Commander Launched in Brazil, India launch likely in mid-2022.





7-seater SUV is already on pre-sale in limited and overland versions, with 1.3 turbo engine of 185 hp or 2.0 diesel of 170 hp.

it is 4,769 mm long, 1,859 mm wide and 1,682 mm high, while its wheelbase is over 2,794 mm.

It will be sold in two versions (Limited and Overland) with two engine options each: 1.3 T270 turboflex and 2.0 TD380 turbodiesel. Whatever version you choose, they're all in pre-order from now on. The SUV will be in stores only from October 7.

the weight difference even small compared to the Compass, since the Commander has 1,685 kg (Limited T270) against 1,589 kg of the smaller brother (Version S), only 96 kg more.

in relation to the Compass the Commander is 365 mm longer, 40 mm wider and 54 mm taller, with the wheelbase bringing an abyssal difference of 158 mm, which in a technical data sheet analysis you can bet that the internal space is much wider. In the diesel version, it is slightly taller (height 1,702 mm) and is also further away from the ground (212 mm x 209 mm flex).

The trunk volume of the Jeep's large SUV is 661 liters with 5 seats, 233 liters with 7 seats in use or 1,760 liters when the seats of the 2nd and 3 rows are fully folded. For comparison, the Compass, which has space for 5 passengers, has a trunk with capacity for 476 liters (the Commander takes 185 liters more in configuration for 5 occupants).

the Overland version combines black leather and brown suede finish (black in limited) on the seats, on the door and panel panels. That is, practically the entire interior has soft surfaces to the touch, with little plastic in sight. The seats also have brown leather and details in embroidered suede on the backrest and sides (outside the central seam with chess shape, which gives a lot of refinement), coming with seams in bronze tone – which also appears throughout the cabin.

The bronze color will also be present on the panel and on the edge of the center console, which in turn brings in the leather jacket arm rests with the inscription Jeep 1941, a reference to the year of launch of the Willys MB. The dashboard is 100% digital with 10.25-inch screen, while the multimedia center has 10.1" screen and support for smartphone mirroring via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay without the use of cables.

the new Commander 2022 brings as an option the 1.3 turboflex T270 engine that debuted on the Compass this year. This set yields up to 185 hp at 5,750 rpm and 27.5 kgfm of torque at 1,750 rpm, in this case always sending its force to the front wheels and equipped with 6-speed automatic transmission. The only feature to assist on a dirt road with low grip situations is traction control with TC+ function.

the Commander with turbodiesel engine 2.0 will certainly be the most indicated. And although it didn't come more powerful as it had been speculated, thus keeping its 170 hp at 3,750 rpm, Jeep ended up recalibrating the engine imported from Italy to get more "torcudo" and go from 35.7 kgfm of torque to 1,750 rpm to 38.7 kgfm (3 kgfm more). Good news, 'cause commander's got a few extra pounds over his little brother. Therefore also the surname TD380 in diesel versions, which makes mention of the torque of 380 in Newton-meter.

Like other Models of the Stellantis group equipped with this diesel booster, the SUV has automatic transmission of 9 gears and 4x4 traction, with selector driving modes that includes a mode that uses the 1st gear as "reduced". For better off-road performance, all Diesel Commander also has terrain mode selector and descent control.

Commander Limited T270 1.3 turboflex AT6 (R$ 199,990): Comes equipped with full-LED headlights, 100% digital instrument panel of 10.25", multimedia center with 10.1" screen, leather and black suede seats, 7 airbags, trunk with electric opening and 18-inch alloy wheels. It also has adaptive speed controller, automatic emergency braking, traffic plate reader, fatigue detector, track maintenance assistant, blind spot alert, automatic high beam, wireless cell phone charger, cableless smartphone mirroring, TC+ traction control and Adventure Intelligence system.


Commander Overland T270 1.3 turboflex AT6 (R$ 219,990): Limited T270 items and 19-inch wheels, brown leather and suede seats, electric passenger seat, panoramic sunroof, face-to-face key for access and departure, Harman Kardon sound system with 9 speakers+subwoofer with 450w, lower frames and paraslin in body color, 127v socket and Adventure Intelligence system with Alexa.
