| ![]() Some comments look straight out of a yellow tabloid. Not sure how they add value to Hexa being on sale or being discontinued. My reliable sources say that Hexa will be continued with a BS6 engine. @Mods, Do we really need threads like these ?. There has been multiple instances of these discussions earlier, without any conclusion ! And this is just another one ! Last edited by Rudra Sen : 25th January 2020 at 18:15. Reason: typo edited |

| ![]() Hello bhpians. I know this topic has been beaten to death but couldn't stop myself from sharing this latest information regarding the Hexa BS6. As I had mentioned earlier that Tata will put up a teaser of the Hexa BS6 at their auto expo stall, according to the latest information that I have received those plans have been shelved. Now most likely Tata will showcase a physical prototype of the BS6 Hexa that too in its 4×4 avatar. It is expected to have slight changes to its face and may be a differently designed roof structure. Tata is likely to do something on the lines of what Maruti did with the XL6 for the Hexa 4×4 atleast. And before you ask, No, they still won't offer the automatic and 4×4 combo. This will be my last post on this thread. Now waiting for the expo to see what Tata has in store for all of us Hexa fans. Fingers crossed. |

So let's rule out inferences that it's related to either of them. Last edited by TROOPER : 31st January 2020 at 19:39. Reason: Added PS |

| ![]() Could you clarify about what plans have been shelved? The plan of playing the video, or the plans to bring the BS6 Hexa by late 2020? |

I think the teasers that Tata has started to put up point in that direction only. Let's wait for Auto Expo. | |

BHPian ![]() | ![]() Well no one can replace the Safari, right? ![]() I feel it's just a stop gap arrangement. Till the next gen Safari comes, to have an AWD offering in the stable. I know it's not in development, but I feel Tata definitely want to visit the drawing board soon. Also, Tata is well known to keep cars in production even when they're barely selling 40-50 units. Why stop the Hexa when it has averaged around 180-190 per month in 2019 with zero marketing, amid the slowdown, and could do better if some more creature comforts are introduced, with some active marketing. Also the cosmetic changes, if any, should up the quotient considering Tata's strong designing forte. |

| ![]() I think the Safari brand has been / will soon be numberplated. Just like the Sierra. Rather than risk the brand value with a successor that may not live up to the core values of the original product, the company may prefer the successful but not sustained brands to provide more of a feel good factor for overall company image! | ![]() Well, that is as official as it can get, since it comes from the Tata Motors official youtube handle. So it really will see the BS6 light and is going to be the only AWD capable TML car for the foreseeable future. Really hope there is some internal 4WD SUV development to take over from Hexa in 2023. | ![]() It is just my pipe dream, and I am not an expert to comment on technicalities and feasibilities, but when aria was redesigned, Tata should have done a proper nose job (redesigning the bonnet and the front fenders). I think this would have helped the car shed MPV tag, and would have increased the desirability quotient. Here is one with my poor photoshop skills. ![]() |

BHPian | ![]() I own a Hexa XTA and the first thing I noticed after seeing the Safari Edition pictures is the increased gap between the wheels and the body. The wheel arch moulding has changed to a more angular design but still the gap seems to be a lot compared to a 19inch wheel model. The overall height is same for both the 19 and 17 inch wheels so I don't think the the smaller wheels are creating a visual perception here. Can anyone who has seen the Hexa edition comment on this? If the ground clearance has increased from 209mm of the present Hexa then if will help elevate it's off-road ability. Last edited by damodar : 11th February 2020 at 11:21. |
