Auto Expo - The Motor Show 2020 ticket sales are live on BookMyShow. Tickets can also be purchased at the venue, and it will be marked box office on the pamphlets/maps released later on. To buy tickets right away, you may use this link
https://in.bookmyshow.com/events/aut...020/ET00118921 for all days including the business hours on Day 1, i.e. 7th February 2020.
Do note that online booking only provides you a confirmation with sms and QR codes. You need to further collect the perforated/tear-away ticket either by home delivery or pick up at venue method.
Per my experience previously, and since the venue is the same, if you book day 1 business hours, you're better off having them home delivered (or prefer delivery to some acquaintance in Delhi NCR if your pincode is not accepted for home delivery) because it's no use trying to book business hours and then queuing up to the box office for collecting physical perforated/tear-away tickets from the counters by providing your confirmation QR codes on mobile or sms. The venue is huge and the box office is actually closer to one of the parking spots than being at the main entrance (which one would obviously expect), making walking difficult and the area is quite deserted without the usual road, pavement, shop-fronts, eateries format. Do carry a water bottle and some snack to enjoy before you get entry (yes, there's proper entry gates and adequate security to let enthusiasts down) and actually get inside the India Expo Mart territory. Once inside, you're free to go almost anywhere in the huge sprawling venue, no one bothers you except at the entry.
Also to note: The venue has food stalls at atleast 3 spots. Since bags are not usually allowed, and outside edibles, water, thermos flask etc are banned as per entry rules, you have to avail the food stalls for food and water. There's a mechanism of rechargable swipe-cards for food and beverages, it helps to speed up the serving time. Cash is accepted at very limited stalls. It's a good idea to have food earlier during the visit, and then stroll through the various halls. If you have food later (the usual lunch time) then do expect enormous crowds at the food stalls. A few fine dining options are also available at the venue and they are catered by the respective hospitality groups, they are serious business! Some permanent restaurants are also present on premises inside buildings (the multi-floored building) if you can find them. They serve a wholesome buffet and are very economical for someone who plans to spend an entire day there.
Apart from this, you may read the usual venue rules at the booking page itself.
This time, we have a metro line operational near the venue (Metro Stations Knowledge Park II & JP Greens Pari Chowk) and I believe the crowds will swell from the added connectivity.
In 2018, I had used Airbnb to book my stay at a huge property in Gr. Noida, it was pretty economical at Rs. 350 per night (excluding food) and the app-cab ride to the venue was only Rs. 120 per side. Where I stayed, it was a multinational hostel kind of Airbnb with a personal valet and cook always available to cater to any palete. It was funny to read through the hotel prices skyrocketing in Gr. Noida during the event

. Anyways, increased metro connectivity will bring some respite this time.

You can book online, it's the easiest method. You can also purchase the tickets directly at the venue box office when you visit, but you have to queue up and walk to entry gates. You can't drive into the venue directly, even if you have tickets. No one does that. It's a fair, an exhibition and professional gathering meant to be explored on foot.
You mentioned the word : passes. Yes I have seen different colored passes (same ticket but different color) last time. But I don't know if they are made available outside of SIAM / Automotive channels and the manufacturer's own employees who are supposed to be there in official capacity or company tour. Passes are not available at any passenger car dealer. It's more of an industry delegate thing than an entitlement. Moreover, I think people with passes need a boss and some task to accomplish during the show. They also need to be dressed in business attire and it's not more enjoyable other than one's knowledge and perception. People may believe that those holding passes are important, but they are simply in the capacity of some rank-employee with some task assigned by the higher management, nothing more.
Skip the passes and look forward to plan for a multi-day visit with food, stay, lists of things you need to see/expect to see and enjoy the show with tickets.
