Trust me its extremely easy. You sit so high to begin with - you get almost a satellite view. And yes - its FUN! You start off in what is marked as "2nd" gear always. If you love driving - driving bus is awesome. Unless of course if its an Ashok-Leyland machine. The clutch pedals of Ashok-Leylands come out at such a position that one needs to remove some bones from the left foot to be able to properly operate it .

While its marked as "1-2-3-4-5-R" or "1-2-3-4-5-6-R" on the gear stick, those who have driven / who drive a bus, read it as - "Special-1-2-3-4-R" or "Special-1-2-3-4-5-R". The "1st" is so LOW that it hardly moves the speed needle. But boy is it a torque fest in that gear! Its used on steep inclines obviously. Engine sounds like a turbine in that gear. Hehe. The Tata-Cummins engines I used are quite robust and rugged for our conditions. And are surprisingly free revving (relatively considering their ~6L displacement).

The Starbus60 was a downer though. It was too heavy, engine was underpowered for its size & it was extremely noisy in the driver's seat. Thats probably why it didn't see much success and was soon replaced by the Marcopolo product line.

By the way, I missed 2 key cars in the list of my driven cars somehow!

Renault Duster RXZ AWD 110 & RXL85
Renault Megane dCI 2017 (In Europe)
