re: 7-seater Hyundai Alcazar launching in June 2021. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 16.30 lakhs

Got to give Hyundai credit where it's due. Hyundai has matured from we make the best looking cars in the business to we have a knack for ruining perfectly beautiful and dazzling designs. What's up with their recent launches?
I used to think that the pre-facelift Nexon looks quirky, but the Creta/Alcazar is in a totally different galaxy altogether.

Anyway, as they say— beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This will still sell by the truckloads as long as it wears that Hyundai badge and they load it to the gills with their routine Hyundai goodness. Hyundai is the new Maruti of this segment.

Hyundai's bright fortunes are on the card and this car will definitely bring more happiness to Hyundai, IMO. All the Bhpians have already covered my points too, so nothing specific I want to add.

Honestly, everyone looking for these vehicles need space and diesel engines. However, good or bad the last row is it ticks off the 7 seater requirement. That is why the Harrier which now has no distinguishing factor for an SUV might have an issue.
Other than the 3 Germans, anyone selling a 5 seater SUV in 25-30 lakh bracket will have issues.

The real game changer will be if they plonk the 2.0 mills in it. But I'm pretty sure people will que up even if it comes with the 1.4 GDI / 1.5D. From the sketches, it appears that the interior(Dashboard area) also is heavily inspired from the 2021 Tucson.

Whats better than a Hyundai in India? A Less Ugly Hyundai. I smell a lot of profits.

I believe the 2nd gen ix25/Creta doesn’t get the a 2L engine petrol/diesel in any market worldwide.
2.0L gasoline is confirmed for Alcazar in India.

re: 7-seater Hyundai Alcazar launching in June 2021. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 16.30 lakhs

Alcazar reminds me of the Palisade that is becoming pretty popular in the US, albeit a bit smaller. More so, it has 2-3 weeks for test drive and 3-4 months waiting post booking. It is just a matter of time, more of the successful models are converted to 7 seaters of this strategy comes back in trend. Kia also has a version that is sold under the name Telluride.

Price will be a crucial factor during launch, and though they might not be really comfortable 7 seaters, they do become great 5 seaters with a huge boot.

re: 7-seater Hyundai Alcazar launching in June 2021. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 16.30 lakhs

I was planning to wait for tucson, but if they give the same engine in this car, I might give it a serious thought, not only will it be a good 10 lacs cheaper, it will be easier to live with in city as well.

Just that design language, hate the new creta, not sure if I will like the front end of this too. That said I echo the same sentiments of rest of the members, this is going to be a huge hit,no second thoughts about it.

re: 7-seater Hyundai Alcazar launching in June 2021. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 16.30 lakhs

1.4 Turbo petrol comes with 138 BHP and 242 NM torque
2.0 Petrol motor comes with 150 BHP and 192 NM torque

2.0 petrol motor does not add much value to overall specs. Alcazar might be better off with 1.4 turbo petrol instead

What it really needs is 2.0 diesel with 8 speed AT and 1.6L turbo petrol Hyundai has globally. Although putting these engines in Alcazar will kill Tucson instantly in terms of its positioning. So I have doubts whether Hyundai will add these engines. But I am really hoping for 2.0 diesel

Paying tribute to origins of COVID I guess. The design on the rear windshield

re: 7-seater Hyundai Alcazar launching in June 2021. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 16.30 lakhs

Alcazar seems to be promising car for Hyundai in India going through the details that has been leaked so far if priced right.
With a budget of 13 - 15 lakhs on road in Bangalore and coming from owning a ciaz, I was looking for a spacious vehicle for a tall driver and decent ground clearance and ride comfort. After contemplating a lot about the next car finally decided to get Creta E diesel(6 months waiting period ) though the design seems a little radical, and have placed a booking considering few after market accessories can be retrofitted.

Now waiting for the launch of Alcazar if it can be considered for the option of 2 additional seats and larger boot with last row folded . Hope hyundai doesn't mess up the pricing and offers same range of variants similar to that of creta.

Hoping Alcazar is launched soon and made available with lesser waiting period

The rear tail lights somehow reminds me of the Ford Endeavor.

I can see a part of Suzuki Grand Vitara too but overall the sides and rear are better to look at as against the Creta.

I have only one thing to say after looking at the monstrosity of Hyundai designs these days "The designer should be fired (literally if possible)"
I will never buy such monstrosity, even though how good might be the product in terms of features or driving pleasure.

re: 7-seater Hyundai Alcazar launching in June 2021. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 16.30 lakhs

The rear looks like a Ford-Mahindra joint venture baby slapped onto a souped up Creta. And the name is something that Tata Motors would have come up with.

Not complaining, though I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole, different strokes for different folks.

Edit - just had another good long look at post #12 on the thread. If it's anything like that.....hideous.
