For all those who wonder - Stile means "Style" and Palio is "Racing silk".
They are Italian words.

Yes, FIAT's design center in Italy is also called "Centro Stile" ,from where interiors of this Palio hasnt definitely come.

I think it is Stilo , not Stile?
This thread is about Fiat Stile and not Stilo. Did anyone mentioned about Stilo before ? I may have missed it. Pictures for reference..

I hope I wud be able to see some TV ads for this new step by FIAT... Without marketing it will go just the our much-loved current (Pre NV and NV) Palio way.... FIAT should understand the importance of right marketing...

One of the major reasons for Palio's disaster is poor mileage. With less body weight, the new Palio may be giving a better mileage and attract more buyers who always liked Palio but were scared by the over hyped poor mileage. Now price this against Wagon R accompanied by good customer sat and it is a real winner.

For us the real Palio lovers, we can still hold on to our old Palios.

Do all agree??
Yet another classic example of how the automobile manufacturers take the Indian consumers for granted, and sucker us into buying outdated products and that too at a price much higher than what they charge overseas (ofcourse courtesy our Govt's taxing system)!

I'd like to bring to your notice that QUALIS is one of the biggest hit of Toyota. If people had gone for looks, TOYOTA would not have sold atleast 100 QUALIS. There are something more than looks. What made people away from FIAT was its Pathetic service and cost of spares.
Fiat has addressed these two issues quite well nowadays.
I've spoke to a friend of mine who has gone for the FIAT training in Pune. According to him, the FIAT has restuctured the cost that most of the components are now having the price range which is in between an Alto and a Santro.

Also one more thing to add...
I've seen Indica XETA and new PALIO side by side.
The INDICA is so puny. Having a Digi-Odo does not make INDICA a great car. It is a good car but not the best.
As you said, The interiors of Palio may not be upto our expectations. But its a fresh theme which family men will adore to.

Finally Let me conclude....The new palio will be having 14 kmpl mileage in city driving conditions.

The new Palio has lost almost 200 Kgs which makes it more lighter. The engine is tuned to develop a very good low-end torque which help city driving a breeze with good mileage

@All.... the interiors are still a hell lot better than Wagon R, Santro, Estilo's and to some extent the spartan interiors on a Swift VXi. Besides I dont take this thinner sheet theory... the reduced weight would be due to a smaller engine and no way a palio can be below 900 kgs. I for one like the exteriors styling a lot, its fresher without going too overboard. And its a comprehensive change unlike headlight tail light job most companies do.

My only problem with the car is 54 BHP.. isnt it too low considering its a 1.1 engine same as Wagon R and Santro and both of them generate 64 bhp.

Is this 1.1 engine of Palio an 8 valve or a 16 v engine? Just curious.

Are all three models 1.1 variants, what about 1.6 sports or Adventure?

The 1.6 Sports Palio will not be manufactured I guess and I believe the Adventure will sell.
