Yes, I have received my Polo. It does get the ESC and everything the GT TSI gets. The driving characteristics of the car are fantastic, you'd love the confidence it inspires on the highways and I found its ride above city speeds very compliant (more so than the Jazz). Overall, I'm very happy with the car. I extensively drove both the Polo AT and the Jazz CVT, multiple times, to make sure I take the correct decision and I couldn't be happier. Polo leaves me grinning every time I drive it, I love the way it looks and always turn back to take catch another glance. The Jazz would've been a "wise" decision but nowhere as exciting as Polo, and at the end, no amount of reason will make you as giddy as the experience of driving a fun car.

You can read more about my delivery of the car here - https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/offic...ml#post4913957 (Volkswagen Polo 1.0L TSI : Official Review)

My Volkswagen Connect can be accessed by plugging the dongle to the on-board diagnostics (OBD) port of the car. Once a smartphone is connected to the system via a dedicated app, one can make use of the tech to access several features.

The carmaker claims that the interactive sim-based app brings convenience and safety as it provides features such as real-time location, towing alert, geo-fencing, route deviation alert and SOS call, among others.

It is available with 3 years of free subscription and a 3-year warranty.

And also the Polo Highline Plus. I was given a free OBD2 Bluetooth plug with my Polo HP AT. I've not tried using it yet though.

Let's see the actual functionality before getting exited. "Real-time location?" We've all had that for years.

Any idea if the dongle/subscription is possible to buy for existing Polo owners? I'm thinking that it could be used to read various metrics and then use an Android Auto compatible app (possibly Torque?) to have it displayed on the infotainment screen.

Just to satisfy the geek in me.

Is this just for the Vento and Polo or gets extended to the newly launched T-Roc as well? If you have any insights please share. Thank you in advance

Volkswagen have previously been offering a WeConnect Dongle and presently they have released a My Volkswagen Connect Dongle which is SIM based. Both of these are simply OBD-2 based and should work with previous cars as well. Yet to test whether they have an Android Auto/CarPlay compatible app for beaming some OBD-2 data on the Dashboard. Good chance this might just be something similar to an ELM 327 based protocol.
