I see this trend among manufacturers to cut on essential features in lieu of tech overload.

A bigger touch screen, engine start stop button, sunroof take precedence over rear head rests, physical HVAC controls et al. Shifting priorities may be..

Hope the Virtus ticks the right boxes.

Spotted two of them going through what might be the final stage of testing.

Fellows were driving the cars hard and able to lose everyone...until they saw a 530d coming up fast in their rear view mirror . After 10 minutes, they realised they couldn't lose me, so they did something smart. Slowed down to a crawl. I was done with observing the cars from different angles for 10 minutes, hence drove on. They must've thought of me as a royal pest!

Haha. I would have thought a car with no perma plates will find it easier to lose cars at the right places on the Bombay Pune expressway - what with it being lit up with speed cams and speed traps.

WoW !

That teaser with those sharp DRL's, raised Boot Lip / Spoiler and overall RED theme suggests the Virtus will be positioned as a sporty alternative / twin of the Slavia. Interestingly the Sunroof is missing in this teaser pic ( may be edited out to mislead / surprise the competition ), However hope the GT treatment continues with the Interiors as well.

New VW Virtus 2023 will combine Nivus parts with Up engine TSI (Brazil)

Restilization of the compact sedan debuts in India in March, but will arrive in Brazil with important differences in visuals and mechanics

The new Virtus 2023 will be volkswagen's most important sedan in Brazil. And also in India.

The new Brazilian Virtus will not be exactly the same as the Indian model

Headlights with straighter lines will be common to the sedan in both markets, but the Brazilian model will adopt the same led headlights as the Nivus, while the sedan manufactured in India will adopt a piece with elliptical block projector and LEDs at the bottom.

Compared to the current Virtus, it still changes the front bumper with larger lower air outlet, integrating a narrow air outlet that exists in the current model. In addition, there are vertical niches for the fog lights of LEDs. The upper grille is narrower and gains a chrome top bar, which can be illuminated in the Highline version in Brazil.

The new VW logo will hide the adaptive autopilot radar (which will ultimately be made available for the sedan) along with autonomous emergency braking.

The rear will have a "touch" of Nivus and T-Cross. This is because, in addition to the lanterns gaining grayish background, almost black, they will be interconnected by a black bar, but with a chrome frieze. The new Volkswagen logo will be positioned on this black ruler, which will make the trunk cover a new piece.

The Virtus 2023, internally called the VW271 LA PA, will still have rear bumper with its base very similar to that of the Slavia, with a thicker horizontal bar, with a much more discreet chrome bead than the current one and reflective parts. At the ends of the bumper, well-marked creases will have the mission to give the Virtus feel to be wider than the MQB A0 platform allows.

Finally, Volkswagen is considering offering a panoramic sunroof as an option for the more expensive Virtus 2023.

The 200 TSI engine, 1.0 TSI with 128 hp and 20.4 kgfm, in turn, would continue to be offered exclusively with the six-speed automatic transmission.
The same goes for the Virtus GTS's 250 TSI (1.4 TSI and 25.5 kgfm) virtus GTS

Still, the top-of-the-line version of the Indian Virtus will have the 1.5 TSI engine, much more modern. In addition, your exchange will be the seven-speed DSG.

These brake lights look way better than the Slavia's. Not too sure about the front though. But looking at the teaser image, the front DRLs look different than than Brazillian model so I am hoping for the best.

Wow! Those A4 like tail lights on Brazilian spec Virtus are sick! Hope we get the same on Virtus. If so, I’d be tempted to hold my purchase for few more days.
