Mod Note: Our Mahindra Bolero New Report has been taken live at this link. Please continue the discussion over on the new thread. Thanks!

Mahindra TUV300 facelift spied sans camouflage

The upcoming Mahindra TUV300 facelift has been spotted during an ad shoot. The latest spy shots reveal most of the exterior changes that have been made to the car. Rumours suggest that it could be renamed as the Bolero Neo.

The updated TUV300 will get a redesigned grille with chrome inserts flanked by re-profiled headlamp clusters. The front bumper has also been tweaked and houses a trapezoidal air dam with fog lamps on either side. The overall shape of the TUV300 remains unchanged though. The slab side rear fascia has been carried over as well.

The TUV300 could also get minor interior updates including a new infotainment head-unit and seat upholstery to name a few.

The TUV300 Plus facelift is expected to be offered with a 1.5-litre diesel engine paired with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed AMT. Mahindra might also introduce a 1.2-litre petrol unit that could be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Front fascia design has taken from the Alturas G4. Looks better than the current one.

Re: Mahindra TUV300 Plus Facelift in the works

If we look at the front section alone, it looks far better except the overdone chrome on the grille slats. But the rounded corners of headlamps, creases on the bumper doesn't seem to fit the overall boxy-ness of the TUV design.

But I agree it looks a lot better now. It seems that the M&M design team has tried to make a range rover cut on the front & front 3 quarter view with minimal changes and budget.

It looks much better than the current one.
Interesting how small tweaks can change the looks.

Re: Mahindra TUV300 Plus Facelift in the works

IMHO, this update is a much cleaner, sleeker design than the previous thanks to the roof-rails delete! For me those roof rails were unsightly and made the sub-4 meter car look like a luggage trolley with handles pulled up. Without those roof rails, the smooth roofline gives a mini Range Rover-esque silhouette now. I loved the same feature on the TUV300 Plus too - no roof rails!

The front fascia too is more mature now. At the rear however, I preferred the earlier clear lens with chrome tail lamps. How wonderful it would be if Mahindra plonked in the 120 Bhp TUV300 Plus motor and also provided a 4x4 box?!

Re: Mahindra TUV300 Plus Facelift in the works

As an ex-owner of TUV300, this facelift makes me S-A-D. TUV was never about styling, it was a tough vehicle with brick design. This is what attracted many buyers, no bells and whistles. Simple yet practical 7 seater.

This one looks like a mini Bolero and in few angles looks like a cross between Bolero and Scorpio. The alloys design is one thing which I hate the most on the new version. They should have plonked a Petrol engine in it and increased the power in the Diesel variant.

It looks sleeker now. Like a baby Scorpio. TUV is the only body on frame rear-wheel-drive vehicle in the crowd of compact SUVs. You can have it for the same price as a Nexon or Brezza. Give it a proper automatic, this can capture some sales from SUVs. But I guess that has very little chance of materializing.

I had read somewhere on this forum from a member that Mahindra is planning to cull the Bolero and push this as New Bolero . Looks like it’s happening. Boy! Am I glad that I got the real one before they kill it.

The Bolero Neo was spied again recently with partial camouflage. This test mule still carries the old TUV300 badge on the tailgate.

Rumour: Mahindra Bolero Neo to be offered in 3 variants

While it hasn't received as much attention as the XUV700, Mahindra is also planning to launch the updated TUV300 sometime this year. Expected to be branded as the Bolero Neo, the SUV will be positioned above the standard Bolero.

Mahindra TUV300 facelift spied sans camouflage. EDIT: Launched as Bolero Neo at Rs. 8.48 lakhs-mahindraboleroneofront.jpg

According to a media report, Mahindra is likely to offer the Bolero Neo in three variants - N4, N8 and N10. Under the bonnet will be a 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 100 BHP and around 240 Nm. However, it is still unclear if the SUV will get the option of a 1.2-litre petrol engine.

Spy images have revealed that the Bolero Neo will get a redesigned front fascia with a new grille and re-profiled headlamp clusters. The front bumper has also been tweaked and houses a pair of fog lamps.

The SUV is also expected to receive some minor interior updates including a new infotainment head-unit and seat upholstery among others.

Front looks good but side profile is same which was always weird. I was hoping Mahindra will do some more changes in facelift but looks like this is just minor facelift, sad. I always find TUV300 design to be odd. Opportunity lost.

Mahindra TUV300 or the Bolero Neo has been spotted undisguised at a dealer's showroom. The vehicle here is the top of the line N10 variant.

re: Mahindra TUV300 facelift spied sans camouflage. EDIT: Launched as Bolero Neo at Rs. 8.48 lakhs

Mahindra need to add enough differentiating features for customers to want this Bolero product line extension. They need to add more power, a proper non-AMT automatic transmission option, rear locking differentials and a 4x4 option for this re-birthed avatar of the TUV 300 to be successful.

They have a wonderful opportunity here to set themselves apart from amongst the sea of softroader CSUVs with this product.
