Even I feel the same. They should have gone with 14" wheels or they should have made the wheel well a bit narrow. Btw omission of fog lamp housing is another eyesore. That plane front bumper is looking very bad. It is giving the car very monotonous type of look and I really don't know why car makers have started giving these BP machine display type instrument clusters. They could have lifted those rpm and speedo dials straight from last gen K10 rather than giving this so called digital display with no tacho.

Here are some more pics

re: Next-gen Maruti Alto (Y0M) caught testing in India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 3.99 lakh

Clearest pics of Alto K10 VXI plus till date.
Some glaring omissions are as follows
1. No provision for fog lamps.
2. No rear power windows.
3. 13 inch rims.
4. No tachometer.
5. Tiny boot space.
6. Manual ORVMs.

re: Next-gen Maruti Alto (Y0M) caught testing in India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 3.99 lakh

Visited Maruti Dealership to take test drive of Celerio and get a feel of how AMT behaves.
Expressed to Sales advisor my displeasure about how newer Maruti models looks have degraded - 1st Gen Alto, Celerio were far better looking.
He suggested that Newer Celerio tail lights are designed like rain drops!

I prefer sleek and or boxy headlights, taillights and DRLs - they look so elegant.
Don't know why designers come up with these asymmetrical and out of place designs, there is lack of coherence in design language these days.

I guess designers have to make newer designs every now and then to stay in jobs - even if they are ruining good designs and replacing them with bad designs :-)

My 2018 alto k10 looks much better in terms of front layout. Rear seems more aligned towards family look(celerio) and rear leg room seems to be much more compared to the previous gen. something interesting since the car has reduced in length.

Maruti as usual plays it safe and I am sure people will love this over the ugly S-presso

I feel they have taken some space from engine bay as previous gen alto platform was designed according to suzuki's old 1.1L 4 cylinder engine which was bigger than this 3 cylinder unit. In addition to it they have extended the wheelbase which again resulted in better legroom.

Maruti should have added Suzuki 'S' logo on the black grill. Maybe some single or double chrome lines like XL6 would have made this car a looker IMHO.

Overall good car by Maruti and surely they will get huge success.

Yeah! It looks very ugly not gonna lie I still like the previous Gen k10's.... this looks like something that would date back to 05's..... wasn't expecting this from MS

The current gen Indian Alto launched in 2011-12 does not have a 1.1 L engine. It has the K10 (996cc) and F8D (800cc) engines. The 2002 version used to have the 1.1 L one that Alto used to share with Wagon R as well.

Coming back to the leg room, the new Indian Alto is based on a brand new platform (S-Presso) compared to the previous Alto.

I forgot to mention that both the 1st gen and 2nd gen altos including their K10 versions were based on the same platform which is the reason why they were similar space wise. K10 3rd gen is now based on heartect platform with bigger wheelbase compared to previous gen altos resulting in better legroom.

Over priced by about 40k. The Vxi+ should have been limited to 4.99L ex-showroom. With the new s-presso being offered at discounts, the same could follow with k10 after the festive period.
