Re: New "BH" series registration | For cars getting transferred from one state to another

I am in the process of getting a new vehicle myself and have been interacting with multiple dealerships in Bangalore (my current location), Ranchi/Jamshedpur (my home location) and Bhubaneswar (simply because Orissa was the first state to implement it) on this subject.

While none of them have any clue on the exact process/timeline or vehicle pricing with BH registration, the SA at MPS Jeep Bangalore mentioned he has heard that couple of luxury cars have applied for it in Karnataka but they are yet to be allocated numbers. He said he is closely following up on this topic with his RTO folks and will replicate the process followed by them once those cars get a final number.

Just curious, can we do an RTI on the respective state transport departments to disclose the exact progress and timelines for implementation?

You mean the Odisha folks too don't know about this?

Yeah, surprisingly Jeep Bhubaneswar folks have no clue on this yet. They said they've received few enquiries regarding BH registration from buyers but haven't gone through the actual process until now.

They don't even have pricing/documentation details for the same but assured they would help me through the process, if I intend to go ahead with it. I asked them to call back once they have full clarity, will update here when they get back.

Thanks mAndArk. Can you please find more details from the Jeep sales team on BH registration in Bangalore. I am one of those waiting for KA to implement to buy my new car.

Sure, while I shall continue following-up with both KHT and MPS on this (as I intend to get my car with BH registration only even if it means waiting for a few weeks/months), it would be great if we can team up for coordinating with the dealership.

It might help to push our case for demanding a non-KA registration at the dealer's end, as well as get some good discounts during the purchase.

Same credentials (KA01 & JSR) and same school of thought of getting a BH series even if includes certain wait time.
I am inclined towards Harrier Dark after an underwhelming feeling when I test-drove the XUV700 during soft launch last Friday which I was looking forward to since Aug.

I am in the same boat. Awaiting delivery of my MG Hector, but would gladly push it to get the BH registration. The upfront savings on Registration can go into variant upgrade. The MG SA, following up with the KA RTO, informed that the delay is because the RTO received BH registration process from the central government in Hindi and are having difficulty translating

That may be a sarcasm by the MG SA. Normally all these are issued in bilingual.

Same here mAndArk - will wait for few weeks / months for BH to be implemented. Have not yet looked at Jeep and will message you once I test drive the same.

It will likely take another 2,3 months and some serious pressuring from the Central government to make this a reality. He is not expecting BH series registration implementation in Rajasthan by the end of this year.

Seems the case in most states who are trying to cash in on this peak season for car sales till December. They will squeeze and stretch as much as possible. Would be great if people are made aware about the benefits of this change which would in turn make the non urgent customers postpone their purchase. This should in turn get the dealers involved too who as of now are not much bothered due to the demand. The amounts saved using BH could in all probability get them higher variant sales.

Re: New "BH" series registration | For cars getting transferred from one state to another

These are the responses that I've received from Tata in Bangalore

Sales Person: We have not received any information from our office.

Registration Guy from dealership: It has only been started for central govt. employees now. For employees of private companies, it will start from April. All the books will close in March and then they'll start for employees of Pvt. companies.
I asked him to give me a quotation that he'll give to a govt. employee.

Sales Person (another dealership): Kerala, TN and KA have opted out of this.

Re: New "BH" series registration | For cars getting transferred from one state to another

I just had a visit to RTA office TS09. This is right in the middle of city and consider as center of power.

I asked the officer at counter. Any progress on BH registration? Sheepish smile. Nodded head No.

Didn't approach any higher ups. As long touts openly flaunt these office corridor and operate with impunity, one needs to stand their ground firmly and be ready for multiple trips to get work done.

Re: New "BH" series registration | For cars getting transferred from one state to another

Last week I got a call from a dealership as I have made an enquiry. One lady spoke and I clearly told her I am waiting for BH registration and if it is available I am ready to make booking. She in turn replied it is a rumour and there is no such scheme..

Working out the numbers I feel it is worth waiting as I could reduce my loan amount or upgrade to a higher variant/segment..
