Initially, thought what's wrong with the name Casper. But the emerging details are pointing towards homegrown iterative. Why not Casper? It could've taken on both Punch and Ignis with it's compact dimensions and a turbo petrol.

The Casper is pretty much the size of the Maruti S-Presso and would have cost a LOT more than the S-Presso. While there might be a small market for a compact, premium, powerful pseudo-SUV, the tiny numbers it would have sold in wouldn't make business sense.

Hyundai is doing an excellent job in terms of design, fit and finish inside out! No second thoughts on that, sometimes the 'design' part is overdone, which turns the opinion polarizing, but Exter doesn't seem like that.

Now my biggest concern is why they are not coming up with new engines? The kappa 1.2 is age old, if I recall right its there in market sine 2010? Although the performance is decent the fuel efficiency is not that great. I use to drive a 2009 i10 it gave me 10/11 kmpl in city, my friend's i10 nios AMT 2019 gives 11/12 in city traffic; people who own i10 grand also report the same with that engine. When petrol sells at Rs.105/litre, it bothers a lot. I am not concerned about their turbo petrol engine on this front.

Hold your breath till its view in flesh. The actual model usually looks better or worse than the sketched views.

As far as good looking Hyundai goes, I think for this years is the Lamborghini inspired Sonata.

Have they not stopped R&D on ICE cars? I think with their focus on the EV front, now ICE is going to be pretty much standard offerings and tweaked to meet emission standards/FE.

Makes sense too, Hyundai/Kia are making some great EVs!

The rear 3/4 view gives me a Getz vibe, especially the rear door window line. Hopefully the build quality is reminiscent of the Getz as well.

The Getz was a revelation with the 1.5 Diesel which made it a real supermini on our roads. Hopefully this is a spiritual successor, atleast with electrification.

Finally a decent looking Hyundai after long time. After recent Creta, Aura & Verna launches I had lost hope from them. This one also doesnt seem to have connecting tail lights which is good.

A beautiful looking Hyundai yet again. I would love to see it in sports red colour. Hyundai has a clear winner in this segment where MS Ignis couldn't succeed. Hyundai is exactly doing what they should. Compete against and kill base variants of Venue with this.
