Car - TATA Indigo GLX
Fuel - HP-Power
City figures - 10 kmpl (with a/c)
Highway figures - 16.6 kmpl (without a/c)
* Highway figures recorded recently on a regular weekend run to Kochi from Coimbatore which bettered the previous figure of 14kmpl recorded on a Chennai <--> Coimbatore trip, absolute joke of a road between Salem - Kallakurichi marred the figures I guess.
* City driving figures were evolved from wheel to wheel driving in Coimbatore city doing an average of 50 kms per day.

I have managed to put 5 liters after the auto cut off.... and at times.. not more than 2 goes in.

The auto cut off ... stops the moment the fuel jumps up to release the trapped air... once the air is released there is more room. (but not always there would be same amount of trapped air!)

If auto cut offs were accurate how could one manage to put in 2-5 liters after the cut off, since the pump nozzle is just 5-7inches inside (& 5-7 inches can't hold 5 liters of fuel!!)?

agree: . In the Ikon, its a standard thing for us - between 5 to 7 litres always go in after the first cut-off

This figures does not change much even with the AC on. About your cab driver guy... does he own the cab? I do not think so... So his is a case of mirch-masala over some conjectures.

Hei Zappo..... i love to own a Turbo Indica, but what to do :( cant do it now. I meant chennai traffic. The cab driver tow hom i was talking told that he was drving that cab only for the last three years, but it was not his own one.

Two more figures -

1. Expressway dash to Pune (touching 160 kmph, mostly on 100-120 kmph) with AC and all that followed by dash to Aurangabad (touching 120 kmph, but mostly at 80-90 kmph - blame the bad roads, intermittent AC usage), HP Power --- 13 kmpl
2. Sensible driving all the way from Aurangabad to Mumbai (No AC, in that cold yuo could be kidding me) Reliance petrol - 16 kmpl.

More later. I am a bit taken aback.

getting 12.5 in city for baleno

Daewoo Matiz
100% city bumper to bumper traffic run with AC used about 40% of time
got figure of 13.25kmpl

My Turbo Indica DLG gives 15-16 in mumbai city and 19.5 - 20.5 on the highways with 100% AC.

NHC VTEC -
City :13.5 kmpl w/o AC; 12 with AC
Highway : 12 kmpl with AC (heavy breathing ;))

NHC ZX Gxi, 12 kmpl with >95% AC, 100% city driving, before 1st service. Figures are same as my old Santro with AC ON all the time. Will tell you with 50-60% AC soon.

Indica Turbo- City 16, highway- 19-21
indica Lsi- City 10.5, highway 16
Accent GVS- City- 9, highway 14

Honda CT'00 1.3exi- 12-13kmpl(city)Highway-15(17 at times :))

NHC Exi 2005 model... City - Pune
Done aroung 8000 kms.
Before first service FE was 11.5-12 in city with AC ON.
After first service FE was 12-12.5 in city with AC ON
After second service, current FE has improved to about 14.5 to 15.5 in city with AC ON.

Highway - Driving constantly at 140 (touching 160 occasionaly) with AC was 14. Drove 250 KMs at aound 100 on the highway with AC, FE was 18!

I always fill up to brim after cutoff.

Cheers!

My zen gives around 14 -15 with ac in city and on highways it gives 18-19 with ac...without ac on highways.
