Re: Honda's new SUV for India | EDIT: Named Elevate

I dont mind the "butchy" front at all, it works somwhat, but overall the design is that of a conservative body decked up to appear more imposing - sort of like a puffer fish!

Re: Honda's new SUV for India | EDIT: Named Elevate

Looks like a Brezza to me (So many looks like messages here.) That front grill though :(
by the way, even Brezza has the same width.

Will be interesting to see what price they launch the car at!

Re: Honda's new SUV for India | EDIT: Named Elevate

Honda launched a Nissan Magnite look alike! I so hope those are not 16 inchers in a segment full of 17 & 18 inch wheels! I am sure this one will be competing for 1500-2000 units pie piece with Vw twins with Astor as the least selling one in segment.

They meant, their third pillar.

City, Amaze, and now the Elevate.

Re: Honda's new SUV for India | EDIT: Named Elevate

Looks like an underwhelming launch. Really thought Honda would go all guns blazing with this offering, to reclaim the lost market.

By not launching a hybrid, they have lost the hybrid market to the Toyota-Suzuki Twins.

By not having a Turbo Petrol, they have lost that niche to the Korean and German Twins.

Marketing gimmicks like ADAS level 2 or a 360 degree surround camera or a branded audio system or Panaromic Sunroof which are becoming a norm in the segment are notable omissions. The function aside, I have seen customers not considering cars if they omit these features.

Even the car masks it actual dimensions. In the photos, the car appears to be the dimensions of a Renault Kiger (a segment under). Let's see how it looks in flesh.

This isn't the India of early 2000s, where Honda name is enough to sell volumes. And this isn't an easy segment to be in.

Let's hope the car has a few tricks up its sleeves and it can really help Honda India gain some lost ground.

Re: Honda's new SUV for India | EDIT: Named Elevate

I loved the presentation launch end to end. It was an absolutely fantastic launch. The crowd seemed clearly interested in only the car, and not the HICL management's comments. From first glance, I really like the car from outside. Simple, elegant and masculine grille from the front!

I sincerely hope they launch HRV or Vezel next year with Compass Prices.
And now the next wait is for our TeamBHP's review of the Elevate.

Re: Honda's new SUV for India | EDIT: Named Elevate

The front, side and rear profile just don't blend in well. Honda have generally designed well in the past but must say they have missed the mark on this one and it seems like just another car in the Creta/GV/Seltos/Kushaq/Taigun segment.

So are those LED projectors in the headlamp cluster? I'm pretty sure the new City and WRV come with LED reflector setup.

Re: Honda's new SUV for India | EDIT: Named Elevate

The new infotainment system, refreshed interiors, larger section tyres and SUV body styling might command a premium of 1-1.5 lakh over the Honda City. Hondas USP will still be its reliability. My opinion is City will continue to be Hondas top seller in the foreseeable future.

Re: Honda's new SUV for India | EDIT: Named Elevate

The design appears to be too conservative and the large black grille looks a bit out of place on the car. While, as a Honda and as a SUV, it will sell in enough numbers it doesn't really strike the chord as a head turner or even as a unique proposition. It's just another SUV in the sea of options in that segment.

It appears to shares every feature with the City with the exception of the floating screen and Honda is very likely to price it within a lakh of the City which should make it a decent buy.

Re: Honda's new SUV for India | EDIT: Named Elevate

The design feels odd from first look. May be it will grow on us. I was expecting the bookings to open simultaneously and launch in a month or 2. Looks like Honda wants us to play the waiting game there too (after taking forever to announce an SUV). By festival season, do they mean August-September?

Did they announce the boot space? If this is correct, it should have the largest boot along with highest ground clearance.

Any idea if the infotainment system is same as the one in City?

Hope we get to know the specs and feature list soon.
