Grande Punto Launch

SORRY GUYS FOR THE LATE REPLY!JUST CAME BACK FROM THE RANJANGAON PLANT!
OK SO LETS GET DOWN TO IT!
ENGINE OPTIONS
1.3 MULTIJET FGT 75PS
1.4 FIRE 90PS
1.2 FIRE 68PS

SERVICE AND AFTER SALES
15000KM SERVICE INTERVAL
OIL CHANGE AT 30000KM
WARRANTY 2 YEARS/80000K
spare parts cost very close to swift and cheaper than others
{just an example-cost of petrol fuel filter is 226 at mrp wereas same for swift is 407 mrp}

COLOURS AND TRIM LEVELS SAME AS MENTIONED BEFORE

NOW FOR THE DRIVE
FIRST DROVE THE MULTIJET AND AS EXPECTED STREAMLINED DELIVERY OF POWER WITH MINIMAL LAG!NO ROOM FOR IT TO BE CALLED UNDERPOWERED!RUSH OF TORQUE IS TO BE EXPERIENCED!I THINK FIAT HAS GOT THE TUNING PERFECT!I FEEL VGT WASNT REQUIRED AT ALL!FGT MORE THAN DOES THE JOB!

PETROL IS 1.4 90PS AND DEFINITELY APTLY POWERED!TORQUE AT 114NM.
CREAMY SMOOTH IT WAS AND WILL BE PERFECT FOR CITY AS WELL AS HIGHWAY CRUISING!NO ISSUES OF 2ND GEAR RATIO AND PICK UP!

DIDNT DRIVE 1.2L SO CANT COMMENT ON IT!

RIDE QUALITY
cornering and handling is what impressed most!no roll and feels planted.
15" 195/60 i.e same as linea
braking very neat!
PASSENGERS AT THE BACK SEAT ESPECIALLY RAVED ABOUT THE RIDE AND COMFORT!

INTERIORS
DUAL TONE INTERIORS OF BLACK AND GRAY COLOUR!
SIMILAR IN AESTHETICS TO LINEA EXCEPT THE BEIGE COLOR!
REAR LEG ROOM WAS DEFINITELY ADEQUATE AND MORE THAN CLASS LEADING CARS!
THOUGH I HAVE TO ADD VISTA HAS NO COMPETITION IN THIS DEPARTMENT!
BOOT IS HUGE THOUGH!COULDNT GET EXACT VOLUME BUT SHOULD BE PRETTY CLOSE TO PALIOS AT 260L!

EXTERIOR
DROOL IS WAT I WILL SAY!FRONT IS EYECATCHING WITH SORT OF SPEAR SHAPED HEAPLAMP CLUSTERS!TRADE MARK CHROME GRILL ADDS TO IT!SIDE PROFILE IS DEFINITELY SIMILAR TO THE BRAVO AND FRONT END LOOKS THE SAME AS LINEA IF VIEWED FRM SIDE!WHAT TAKES THE PIECE OF CAKE IS THE VERTICAL EDGED TAIL LAMP CLUSTER AND THE BUMPER!I GUESS YOU CANT GET SUBJECTIVE ON THIS!

all in all a pleasure to drive and the reason for this late post is exactly that!couldnt stop taking the beauty round the test tracks!

ALL SAID AND DONE IT COMES DOWN TO THE PRICING!
EXACT PRICES TO BE REVEALED ON NATIONAL LAUNCH ON 17TH IN NEW DELHI!BUT DEFINITELY WILL BE AGGRESSIVE AND COMPETITION BREAKING THAT I CAN ASSURE YOU!

IM NOT A EXPERT IN TESTING CARS SO THE REVIEW MAY NOT BE TECHNICALLY RICH BUT NEVERTHELESS I AM SURE FIAT WILL GET NO COMPLAINTS THIS TIME!NO U[underpowred] WORD THIS TIME!

FINALLY TRUE POTENTIAL WILL BE CERTIFIED BY ALL THE EXPERTS OUT THERE BUT JUST GAVE ALL OF YOU A TRAILER OF WAT TO EXPECT!EXCUSE ME IF I HAVE GONE OVERBOARD ON PRAISING IT!BUT ITS WORTH IT!

That's a downer! After making us dream about the VGT, FIAT! How could you do this to us? The pricing better be right. Did you say 17th May as the national launch?

Maybe, I will try and make it up with the Pete's.

Thanks for the inside info, sidgo7. Appreciate it.

Is the FGT more fuel-efficient than the VGT? i am just trying to look at the positive side. otherwise, the FGT will be a disappointment.
