Re: Maruti to launch Fronx Hybrid in 2025 | Range Extender with engine as the generator

I am confused - where is the extra FE coming from in this setup? Is it just the ICE engine running in its highest efficiency point all the time?

Because even if so, one can still expect losses in the battery charging and the battery-electric motor drivetrain. Also, the extra weight of the electric drivetrain.

The only logical factor that offsets the extra components is the lack of a gearbox and clutch.

Should have been the Toyota Dahatsu 1.2 full hybrid series-parallel WA-VEx engine which should have made it to India instead of the 1.5. they are probably keeping it for BS7. Should have been a 1.2 liter petrol engine they put in their Brezza but instead powered it with a 1.5 and still managed to place it among the top 5 best selling cars in our country. So maybe Maruti knows something we dont. Let's atleast hope Brezza gets the long stroke Z12 mild hybrid CVT transaxle sooner than later.

Its a hybrid with energy recuperation which itself is efficient. Engine operating in efficient band is added to it.
