Re: Wash cars under water pressure ?

I got my car steam washed. Cost: OR 1.5 = Rs 190.
Didn't wash the engine bay or under the vehicle.
Pretty much satisfied. Car sparkling clean, similar to full water wash.
Uses pretty less water.

Has anyone bought these kind of machines for home use, in india?

Re: Wash cars under water pressure ?

This is advantageous in the gulf where water is significantly costlier than fuel/electricity. (I have also heard that in some gulf countries, you get fined for spilling water on parking lots for a car wash). More over, steam doesn't clean the dirt, it only 'wets' the dirt. Actual cleaning would be done by rubbing with cloth. Would scratch the paint, for sure.

Doesn't make much sense in India in my opinion.

Slight scratching might be possible. But, the bigger grains of sand gets blown away be the steam! I didn't notice any more scratches than the car already had.

There are places in India with water scarcity. Also, in the big buildings in big cities with underground parking, it would make sense to use less water, so as not to get too much water on the basement floor & on neighbours' cars.

Re: Wash cars under water pressure ?

I bought the Aquatak 100 for my car wash but I am unable to use it as the water hose does not like to stay on the tap and keeps on fighting for its freedom. I got my self few clamps to use but still the same. Don't know if there is any special kind of tap required for this applications. Please help

I faced a similar problem. But in all the experimenting i found my washing machine inlet hose was a perfect fit (screwed on perfectly!) and prevented the hose from slipping off. The only issue i faced was that the hose was not long enough - though i have not ventured out to look for another. You will need to get the tap changed too if the inlet hose does not fit the tap well.
