i think we may not get the UAE version because in UAE the prev. gen. corolla was the one which was sold in JDM so it may differ from what we may get here... the current corolla is as far as i know .. is the ASEAN version.

The 2009 Corolla is on display at the Montreal Auto show.

- XRS makes a comeback with the 2.4L powerplant.

- Electric Power steering.

- Longer, wider but shorter then the Corolla it replaces.

Still doesnt look as exciting as the Civic or the new Lancer. Looks too conservative.

The design is aggressive but the elements used arent striking the chord it just needs a better kit , and better design for the rims ....

Looks better to me than Civic. When it comes here the interiors may be beige as it is considered "luxurious" than the grey shades.

I can't believe how hard Toyota is cutting costs for this car. The show car doesn't even have a shifter knob!

I think Corolla wont take on Civic with this version, if it doesn't launch a diesel. Civic looks too futuristic and I think people simply love those looks. Also the reliability and handling of Honda. Current corolla was too numb on highways.

The car will be launched around August ... and the diesel version will follow soon (it sure will be there) ...

I agree with tanmay. I have driven corolla and was frustrated with its scattering and poor handling at high speed (by the way it was a new car). It is an excellent car if you want to drive below 50miles/hour mostly. But the moment you cross 70miles/hour corolla looses it's handling, smoothness and grip. In my opinion, corolla is a perfect town car but does not fair on highways. Honda scores in both cases.
Also I started disliking the looks of corolla. Honda civic is at least two generations ahead of corolla in terms of looks.

The new corolla looks as if you have churned Civic, Camry and Cedia in a mixer and got nothing but a piece if s**t.
