oh jeeez these guys have even uploaded the license details , give the license number and you get the address of the person.

All three cars and two bike i get to handle have had thier details updated in the website , thats pretty neat .... there will be issue around but i think , its good that they have started. I fear the day when the site gets integarted like the Chandigarh Traffic police website.

I think u are referring to KLU-112. Its not a jaguar, its a 1960 MG roadster.
This car is not in Tvm anymore. It was originally in Quilon, and in 1974, was purchased by a person in Tvm, Later, the car came to cochin from where it left the state.

thanks for the info braugh

In my opinion, giving complete details of ownership etc as public information could be dangerous.
Nevertheless, I saw this thread just today and when I accessed this site I get "404" page error. I think the site is down or did they remove this off public access?

Nope it is still there. Just go to the homepage and select the desired link from Services menu on the right.

I beg to disagree here.

You are looking out to buy a used car and want to verify the details of the registration number. The dealer shows you a photocopied paper, saying that it is copy of the registration certificate. How do you verify if the vehicle is genuine?

You brush a biker and the biker takes down your number and turns up at your home with 30 of his friends ....

The lorry brushes against your shiny spanky car and runs away and you want to turn up with 30 of YOUR friends at his home next day morning .....

You want to hire a driver and verify if his driving license is genuine.

Boy, I really like the internet.

Looks like the site has been given a makeover and updated. Probably you accessed it during the update.

BTW, I have seen at least one Motor Cycle manufactured by Hindustan Motors, Mark 3 at that on that site. 3 cheers: to GIGO ji.

Not a makeover. Earlier it was a direct link to the page(as in the first post). Then they put Joomla on the site, made it into a horrible pink color and made that license stuff open up in a new window. It looks good but is not that useful if you are on the road and want to check up using your mobile phone.(Unless you know the actual URL, that is :p)

Does other states have this info or sites similar to this?

Does this link still work?

No.

Try this:

.: Kerala Motor Vehicles Department :. REGISTRATION DETAILS

Actually this page is very important now if you want to buy a used car with the new computerized RC book. This book shows only the latest owner and you don't know how many owners the car has had before. You will need to cross check the registration number against this page now to see previous owners.

@4x4addict:Some times the page shows the previous owners.RTO Offices in kerala also have a Touch Screen System where by You can know info on particular Car Registeration(Last I checked).
Now ,While I was on the Market for a used Car ,This Site turned out to be really useful.I can check the Model year and other details of the vehicle too.For Newly Bought Vehicles, You can trace the Booking/Issued Details too are on the web in matter of 24 hours.

BTW ,Vehicle Registeration Allotments,DL Details Etc are too accessible from the Kerala MVD Site.

Good site there.

Just for curiosity i checked what car KL-08-AA-1 is.

Guess what? A merc SLK230K:eek:

Well, I think there is some error in the database.

I checked my Pulsar 150 and I found that all other details are correct except the tax paid which is shown as a whooping Rs.9000. I've never paid 9000 as Road tax !
