If dZire eats into Swift's sales, I think MSIL would be happy.
Not in the case of SX4. MSIL better do something in this department. Where is the 1.9 MJD? We'll be very happy to see it coming soon.

i agree, but still i hope that to increase the sales of swift , they offer some discount on hatch version(petrol and diesel),

I think the Dzire launch will a significant milestone in Indian Automotive industry in more ways than one.

It will for sure force other manufacturers to look at pricing their cars appropriately. Hyundai -- are you listening?

Pricing seems good , but whats this new fad of "Introductory Prices" ?
Is it likely to go up later?

Supplies !!

I sincerely hope that Maruti has done something to supply the cars on time. 1-2 months of waiting is really absurd in today's time.

Pricing is no doubt attractive !!

If dzire drives as well as Swift then it is an absolute VFM with this pricing. Guess someone from team bhp will get his hands on a TD car and we will get to know soon enough.

According to the articles, looks like ex-showroom. If that's indeed the case, it's a minor party pooper, IMHO.

Would have loved the pricing if it was OTR.

Anyone have any confirmation ? Ram ?

Great pricing!!

It will result in other manufacturers giving better deals to customer. Maruti knows the psyche of Indian customers.

Great going Maruti!!

This is the ex-showroom proce in Delhi. The snapshot on the first page clearly mentions the prices as ex-Delhi.

I think DZIRE VDi is less expensive than the lesser equipped Getz CRDi! Can anybody check the prices and confirm?

Dont' know where you saw the "ex-delhi" portion.

The 1st post simply says "Introductory prices (Rs Lakhs)".

Anyway ...

So, let's look at this. Swift (Hatch) Vs Dzire, Petrol version only

Model - Swift/Dxire - Difference
LXI - 3.99/4.49 - 50K
VXI - 4.34/4.97 - 63K (without ABS)
ZXI - 5.16/5.90 - 75K

There's a price difference of 75K at the high end, although it's only the boot getting added in comparison to the rest of the features. When everything else is the same, and there's no internal feature addition, why the drastic increase in price ? Just 'cos they think customers will pay ?

Understandably, the larger car (>4mts) excise duty kicks in, but does it add so much to the diff ?

FWIW, I was hoping ZXI to be around 6L OTR. Maybe my calculations were optimistically misplaced But this (75K, Zxi, ex-showroom) seems to be a huge diff.

And, whatz with the "introductory price" tag ? Does it mean it will increase/decrease ? If competition cuts hard, maybe maruti will drop prices ? Anyone wanting to speculate on this one ?

A little bit disappointed. Don't want to end up being a scape goat, but at the same time, don't want to spend too much time speculating and waiting for my next car :(
