I get minor squeeks , that also sometimes. Its been present since the car clocked 1K kms. All in all the engine is a gem and space and GC are awesome and it is true VFM for the features it offers but the build quality has been compromised (it had too, cant get it all buddy), not that the car is gonna disintegrate but im sure in future its gonna develop rattles like my past Accents.

My SX4 is suffering from minor squeaks and rattles from the dashboard. Nothing serious, but irritating during long drives. Also, for the last 3 months the brakes squeal once in a while - especially in the morning, and when braking slowly before a bump (I got the breaks cleaned, but the problem persists - can anyone help with suggestions?). Nothing wrong with the stopping power, though. Otherwise, it has been a no-hassle experience for ~ 14000 kms over rough roads and smooth.

Nearing 65k kms now..A few rattles from the engine upon accelerating; but I think thats from the filter I had installed. Also, the rattling from the rear parcel tray where I had cut holes for the speakers has also gone now thanks to foam and double sided tape!!

Nearing 40K Kms. I am also getting minor squeaks from rear seats (when there are rear passengers and I pass over undulations). In addition, I am facing a very small noise from the front drivers side door (need to check this in the upcoming service).
However, I was travelling on the express way last week with 4 other passengers. It was an empty stretch and I crossed 150KMPH. This is when I started to feel the vibrations from the engine. This was not there before. Any idea what the reason could be? (will need to examine this as well in the service)

My car( 2010 VVT ZXI) has a minor rattle that emnates from the wind screen on uneven cement roads. At first I couldn't locate the source. When I took it to MASS they identified the source quickly and said they observed this problem in some Dzires and SX4s. They say they need two days time to fix it as the whole windshield is to be removed and refitted. They say the resealing and curing takes time.

I didn't want to take a chance as on tar topped roads there is absolutely no rattle. Even the rattle on the uneven cement roads too is very minor and intermittent. If I press the source point of the WS the rattle disappears for quite some time.

I can hear the rattle only when I switch off the radio. I intend to live with this rather than risk a refitting of the WS. My biggest worry is that of water leaking in rains if they fail to do a perfect job. Since I live in sea shore town I am worried about about the corrosion.

I have an SX4 that has covered 63K Kms. Ofcourse its driven by atleast 3 different people in the family and the driver. The biggest problem is fit and finish. The platiky parts have ugly scratches that shows quiet bad. There quiet a few squeaks and rattles and the NVH level is not something to write home about. The engines are quiet refined for normal cruising levels but its not a sprinter. Headlamps prove a dampner for night driving and body suffers large damages even from minor skirmishes (similar to the Honda).

I switched over to Philips rally 90/100W bulbs. They need an additional realy. Costed me arond Rs.1500 (including the relay). They are very good. The lamps that are factory fitted doesn't inspire confidence for driving at nights on high ways.

However I read that any bulb rated higher than 60W is illegal for normal road use in western countries. I don't know the position in India.

I too feel even minor skirmishes damage the paint easily.

I have Dzire for a year now. Its a Maruti, so just wanted to add my 2 penny here. I have done 7600 kms till date. No rattles at all. I am very happy with that.

I guess if you want rattle free car then you need to drive carefully. Dont speed up on bad roads. Handle speed breakers carefully, else rattles will start. Also handle pat holes cleverly. I have seen rash drivers generally have rattles in there cars. So if you want your car to be calm & quite then do drive carefully

I too get minor squeaks from RHS A-Pillar. Minor rattles are from glove box and somewhere in LHS door. I have taken it many a times to service center but they are unable to fix it permanently. Every fix will last for a week or so and it will resurface. Since it is not a major problem, I am living with it.

I guess it is same in India too. Beyond 60W is illegal.

Any body can shed light on a better alternative? I too wanted to change the headlamp badly, but within the legal limits

My Sx4 zxi has done just 150kms. There is an annoying rattling on uneven roads from somewhere on dashboard. Also once going over speed bumps at 10-15 kmph the front suspension makes some sound.

Very strange !!My wagon r did not had any rattling issue till 100k kms.

Try pressing the windshield up at the centre portion. If the rattle goes away your problem is similar to mine. (It is difficult to locate the source of a rattle in a running car. Many times you find the source in unexpected places.)

Perhaps the intensity of it varies. :-)

My Sx4 has done 7k kms in 3 months. It has started rattling from 150 kms and sc could not fix even after three visits. The issue has been escalated to Maruti and TSM has requested to inspect the car tomorrow.

Rattling #1 : From the roof where the front reading lamp is placed. If I press the roof trim or front glass the noise stops.
Rattling # 2: The driver seat makes sound like a bicycle seat during cornering or going over bumps after 20-30 kms of drive
Rattling #3 : RH front door makes noise when suddenly goes over sharp humps on highways.

Hope the TSM will be able to diagnose and fix this permanetly
