In US I find every alternate car to be Limited Edition, be it from Ford, Jeep, Toyota or any other brand.

An Alto coming Limited edition coming with new engine technology? You kidding . Same thing with body colored bumpers and wheel caps, art leather etc. Maybe year end is near so they want to clear the current year stock.

F.Y.I. They already have a 1.1L Alto. Its the Alto Vxi, which comes fitted with the same engine thats doing its duty in WagonR and Estilo.

And the funny thing is, there are no google search results for either Alto Flash or Alto Xcite! Could these be dealership offers???

I know it Vinit. I said just in case, if they do it again will it sell like anything. Infact Bouncer has updated your information on that one.

A-star is the replacement for current Alto world wide.

in india a-star is placed just below swift.

same way verna is replacement for accent worldwide, but in india the accent still continues.

i10 is the replacement for santro/atos world wide, but in india the santro still continues.

its the same with A-Star and current Alto in india!

cheers:

What Limited Edition? These days every other company comes up with some limited edition.

Besides whats limited edition if they make 1000s and 1000s of pieces of it!

That's true. I remember a previous generation Toyota Corolla had a limited edition. They probably sold a million of them.

BTW, if anyone's interested. Saab has a nice Turbo X (based on the 9-3 sedan) limitd to around 600 piece in the U.S.
Also, Porsche had a few special edition cars recently -> the Boxter & Boxter S Special Editions for 2008 (limited to 250 models and sold-out), and the newer Boxter S Design Edition 2, and the Cayman S Sport.

As someone has mentioned in the previous post, this limited edition could be just to boost the sales further or just to clear the old stock with the company/ dealers.
