Seen 12 Km/liter in last three measurements - each after having driven the car for approx 300 Km in outer Hyderabad (mainly Madinaguda-Lingampalli - Gachibowli and state highways).

Probably safe to say that SX4 mileage observed by me on mostly highways - with AC always on and set to low/mid point (and climate control off) - is 12 Km/liter.

I drive my car mostly in OMR, Chennai. Mileage of my car is around 11 kmpl with 100%AC (climate controlled). I haven't done much of highway driving yet. I shall post avg highway mileage once I get the readings.

I just got my SX4 about a month ago, I've been getting a mileage of 8.3 & 8.4 kmpl in the first & second cycle respectively 100% A/C automatic mode set at 25 degrees, tankful to tankful method with the auto cut fuel dispenser. Fuel filled was speed-91 (Bharat Petroleum).

From now on after the advice given to me by RKBharat & Rajneeesh, I have shifted to normal petrol, I am hopeful of getting the 11's & 12's which many people have been getting as well.

Apart from this I would like to ask members to mention the fuel which they use. Whether its branded (speed, power) or reguler petrol.

Done the first refill after the initial tankful and got a mileage of 12.5 kmpl- but this included 3 runs to the airport and the drive to the airport in Hyd from my house (26km one way) is a beautiful expressway so speeds were around 90 kph in 5th gear.

if it gives me anything over 10 in city with AC, I am happy

My Sx4 has done 27K, I drive with 100% AC ON on auto mode and temp set to 25 degrees. I am still using stock JK tyres and use tankful to tankful to observe fuel economy.

In Delhi/NCR traffic in summer I get between 10.5 to max 11
Sprinted drives on highway (100 to 160 Kmph, 2500 to 5000 rpm) best I have managed is close to 13.

Oil usage ratio will be 3:1 (tankful) between ordinary and premium.

Overall statisfied with the result

My 40 days old SX4 has done about 3300 km. Get between 10-11 in the city with AC on, and recently got 13.3 for a highway trip (including Ooty ghat roads).

My 15800 KM run SX4 with stock tyres @33 psi pressure gives around 10-11 with 100% AC in peak Bangalore traffic. On highways I've got around 14 with speeds around 100-120 Kmph, 3-4 passengers and 95% AC. Recently I was massively surprised with the mileage over 180, 4 lane HW kms, at constant 2500 rpm (80-90kmph) with 100% AC, I got 16.9 kmpl!

I measure brimful to brimful fillings and not auto cutoffs.

I'm getting around 11kmpl with AC always on, and 12.5-13.5 in the winters without AC. Have observed 14 on the highways. My car has run 31k km by now, and is two years old.

I usually don't rev the car too much, and shift gears at Maruti-recommended speeds, except when I look to have a little fun, which is very occasional. When I get a lower mileage than normal, it's mostly because I got stuck in 2-3 traffic jams that week. I use regular fuel, and try to get Speed after every 6-7 tankfuls.

Mine is a 2000KM old VXI. Got 12~13 over two tank full, using Shell premium, 50% AC, tyre pressure at 32psi.
I think if you drive this one sensibly (keeping the rpm around 2~2.5K) one can get good mileage out of him.
Saw the recommendations on using normal petrol, will remember that when i go for the next fuelling.

I sold my Baleno and went in for the SX4 expecting a Huge Drop in FE.
Bear in mind that my Baleno used to give me 14-15 consistantly with A/c on 80% Highway driving.
But I am glad the SX4 gives me the same figures too!!.

Just Last weekend I had a trip from Trivandrum to Cochin and back where in the car returned a really remarkable 15.6 KMPL with A.C on 100%.

Fuel used Regular BP. Mileage 20k

I maintain a vehicle log. As per it My average consumption is 13.8 Kmpl. (1/3 city 2/3 Highway)Which is very acceptable.

My 95' M800 with A/C in city gives me hardly the same.

I just bought the SX4 a couple of weeks back.

Am getting around 9 with A/C on 100% and spirited driving.

Hoping to get around 10 after the 1st service, which I will be hugely impressed with.

I agree that most of the rumors about poor FE comes from ppl who havent owned a SX4.

Last week my trip to Shimgo gave me more than 15 KM/L better than earlier trips. I believe this is decent figure you expect from 1200 KG car with 1.6 L engine. Hope this would be improved with new engine which Maruti is planning

I got 14.5 for a 750KM trip of which approximately 200KM was mountain driving. As far as AC, it on all the time, one good thing when you have automatic AC controls, just set temperature.

A question about automatic AC control, does it help in reducing fuel consumption since compressor is switched on/off as needed, in manual AC it's on all the time ?
