Great scoop Sid!

The GP looks to be well laid out in the dimensions.

Scoops from Intelligent Detectives as he says, sidindica is truly the 'Scoop BHPian' here.
Great man! Keep it coming as always!

Talking about the Punto, it's got nearly the same specs as the Linea. I'd love to drive the Emotion pk which has got 195/60 R 15 tires! It would handle awesomely!

Guys, can anyone shed light on my queries above on Sid's post? Sid, great job, as always.. Forget pricing, if you can get some final production car@ showroom display pics, it would be ultimate.

Even i think so. But may be the Jazz has rear armrests, not very sure though.

In multi-stage airbags system, the airbag deployment depends upon the severity of the crash, the size and posture of the vehicle occupant, belt usage and how close that person is to the air bag module. Many of these systems use multi-stage inflators that deploy less forcefully in stages in moderate crashes than in very severe crashes. Occupant sensing devices let the air bag diagnostic unit know if someone is occupying a seat in front of an air bag, whether the person is an adult or a child, whether a seat belt or child restraint is being used and whether the person is forward in the seat and close to the air bag module. Based on this information and crash severity information, the air bag is deployed at either a high force level, a less forceful level or not at all.

Check these:

Punto:
Dimensions:
Length: 3987 mm
Width: 1685 mm
Height: 1495 mm
Wheelbase: 2510 mm
Ground clearance: 165 mm

Palio:
Dimensions:
Length: 3827 mm
Width: 1620 mm
Height: 1440 mm
Wheelbase: 2373 mm
Ground clearance: 170 mm

So who is big?
Going by mere specs is incorrect and drawing conclusions is incorrect. The Linea is dimensionally marginally bigger than the Corolla. But yet the Corolla is more spacious inside, with lots of room everywhere.

Its good to keep guessing and pull out stats and draw conclusions while eagerly awaiting the launch of the car. But honestly, I hate to be the one to burst the bubble but the Grande Punto is less spacious than the Palio. I know because
1)I have a Palio and
2)was lucky enough to get a chance to spend some time alone with the GP at my local dealership here yesterday morning.

Specs looks great, i agree with everyone here that the success of the car would depend on the pricing.

I dont think offering these basic 8valve FIRE engines is a good idea when competition is coming up with more advanced engines.

Man, that is seriously disconcerting! So the conclusion is:
i20 - underpowered, oversensitive steering, slightly expensive
Jazz - expensive as if it was made of diamonds/swarovskis (man I'm angry with Honda!)
GP - less space!
Fabia - its a skoda!

So now its back to Swift? Today my family went out for dinner in our VDI-ABS. It has awesome pickup, suspension and decent space - I'm hoping GP matches at least 2 of these 3 features...I don't want to end up with 2 Swifts in our driveway!

Now, don't tell me that Swift is more spacious than GP, or any of the other ones that you have mentioned!

If he didn't liked i20's steering then he will not like Vista's Steering i guess.

But against i20 he mentioned slightly expensive & underpowered also.if that dilutes steering issue, vista is the car
