swift has abs swift has this swift has that ....guys why is it providing all this...?just to attract some people who just hear about airbags in a hatchback and feel that its an amazing car...it has compromised on interior quality of the car...and i find getz much more reliable than swift

I know it has... problem is, not even the Fiat dealers know that the car has been on sale again. They cant sell it and they try to sell you Palio 1.2
So yes, anyday Palio 1.6 is a better car than Swift, provided you can get your hands on one. And with FIAT ASS being so famous and such low resale value, it has pure enthusiastic value but no pratical meaning to buy it.

Hi,

Two points for further pondering, my man dadudeonfire;
1. The Vxi Swifts, sans the ABS and Airbags, is currently topping the sales chart (Info provided by Competent, Delhi). So, just the ABS/AB are not the USPs.
2. Regarding reliability, usually it is judged over a period of time of use. It is almost impossible to state that a brand new model/design is unreliable, IMO.

IMHO, we wait for a while and then pass verdict.
When the M800 was newly launched, way back in 1984 (lotsa young TBHP members were not around then ), there were detailed stories in mags re unreliablity, expensive maintenenace, weak chasis and shell (I distinctly remember "Similarity between a Virgin and M800? One bang and they are never the same again!").
It did prove to be immensly sucessful, did it not?

Cheers

I agree with all other parts of your post. But that similarity is oh-just-so-true.

its true though ..only time can tell how reliable a new product is ...as far as the swift's powerplant is concerned we already know that esteem's 1.3L is very reliable whereas hyundai has introduced getz with a fresh built unit ..

I see lately too many Getz out on Delhi streets. Is it that people who went in for Swift but got 9 months wait time are shifting to Getz... Do we have any suggestion that the sales of Getz might be going up, as people have started taking interest in this Segment after the launch of Swift. Or is it the fact that now that Swift is out, ppl find Getz to be a better car?

Swift has certainly created interested in people on this segment. People discuss on the features it offers for that price. They were not comfortable with the delivery time frame that includes many of my colleagues. Getz is the car that is always discussed against Swift, hence people obvious choice would be for Getz.

Getz has come to light on launch of Swift

I am one of those. I sold my Zen to buy a Swift; but was pissed off due to the waiting period, and the 10000 bucks hike. I don't like being taken for a ride and MUL did just that.
So instead I opted for Getz, the dealer (Nimbus, Noida) treated me like King, I got good discount and the interiors rock. I will prefer Getz anyday over Swift, even if both are available off the shelf now.

I have not seen a GETZ for sale in used car market (iam not saying it has not come for resale). In contrast, I see a lot of NHC for sale in used car market. Quoting NHC just to mention that recent launch is not the reason behind it. Is it the people who drove getz fall in love with it?
