I guess the directors consider common people as car-ignorant??
Also to consider is the point that the airbags would pop out in this bashing sequence and render the vehicle immovable.
Of course, there are ways to disconnect the airbags from popping out, but then he'd have to call a toyota technician.
Guess it was cheaper, easier and less cumbersome to use a spare Scorpio

May be.. but then the entire sequence could have been shot with Scorpio. The point that pisses me off is the car switch.

I may be going a bit off topic.

There were a few Tamil movies starring Rajnikanth where he is being chased by baddies.

The action sequences are really good but it doesnt take much to realize its been cut and edited from English movies with great chase sequences.

I remember a movie with Rajni, where bits of the chase was probably taken from the cult movie "Bullitt".

Correct me if im wrong anyone whos seen the movie.

Its not with Bollywood alone is what im trying to say.

In the film Barah Aana (2009) a flop film, Naseeruddin Shah is a chauffeur and uses the Ford Endeavour like his own to move around everywhere. The maalkin asks him how come the petrol bills are so high (Endeavours are diesel powered)?
Interesting cars seen in recent Bollywood Movies-ns.jpg

In the movie Acid Factory they used 3 Scorpios in a song all were dark colored and the lighting was also well done so no errors could be spotted.

Though I'm sure if someone really tried hard enough they could spot some anomalies.

But Indian cinemas are known to be dynamic in the sense of songs especially. One minute they are in India the next in Switzerland and so on.

But with cars I do think they don't use a lot of exotic cars. I mean the rare the kind. Plenty of Beemers Mercs and Audi but fewer of ferraris lambo's Autin Healeys or Astin Martins and the sort.

I hope they feature more beautiful cars. I wonder what a Bollywood remake of Gone in 60 seconds will look like.

Rab ne bana di jodi

This movie was practically the advertisement of yellow color i10 which Shah Rukh Khan bought.

In one song, he was dancing and in the process climbed the roof of his car, and with some careful observation, one can see that the car roof dipped (and possibly dented) because of his weight and shoes. Potential negative publicity for the car!

C
There are a lots of those scenes especially involving old american landyachts of the '50s n '60s. Funny how the puny fiats(driven by rajni) could beat down the yank tanks(driven by villains) in a banger fight.
Also remember seeing a scene in a rajni movie that's the exact copy of the merc destroying scene in the 'The Driver'. In it a w115 is destroyed in an underground parking lot by the actor. Dont remember which merc is used in the rajni movie.anyone?

I have a notion that when the supply of Cielo's dry up, it's gonna be replaced by Skodas
