I was about to book one this week, but decided to wait for the 1.2 plant from polo. The dealer said it is likely to get the CRDi from the Polo, but no news about the petrol. The news article confirms this. Hope they do bring in the Petrol engine also.

It is supposed to get the Polo's petrol and diesel engines along with the facelift. The car looks pretty much the same and IMHO, the headlamps look too large for this car. Anybody else with the same feeling?

With the refreshed Fabia, Skoda cannot price it at a premium as its got tough competition from the Polo and Micra. Etios is up next

Wait, it's getting the 3 cyl, 1.2 engine from the polo? That's like a downgrade! If that's the case, I think Skoda should consider slashing the prices.

Oh they ruined it. The current Fabia looks so much better. What's up with SKoda, first they ruined the Laura and now the Fabia !

This is how it will look with fogs. Looks as good as the previous one.
So this one will share Polo's heart??

Looks as good as the current gen. ^^^ yup i heard from a VW SP that soon Fabia will have the same engine as Polo and hence even its maintenance will come down as Polo is reasonable on the pocket to run.

It already runs on a 3 cyl. In fact the polo 1.2 is just a refined fabia engine. There is already a price correction (50k discount flat). Its cheaper than similarly spec'ed i20 by atleast 10k.

The vertical grille in the front had a continuity with the radiator grille, gave it a rugged yet classy look (of course subjetive!), which is now lost in the new version, which is same as the UK model. I wish they had retained the present one.

Ah, my bad. For some reason I assumed it to be running on a 4 cyl mill. Now that the engines are the same, shouldn't they be priced similarly as well? Or is Skoda going to charge a premium? What's the price difference between the Polo and the discounted Fabia?

(Pics) New Skoda Fabia testing in Pune

Saw a convoy of 3 Skoda Fabia's testing this morning. There was also a red Polo with them but couldnt get a chance to catch up with the Polo, it might have been the 1.6 on test.

I noticed that all 3 Fabia's had different badging at the rear viz HTP, 16V and TDI. Looks like we will 2 petrol's and 1 diesel similar to when Fabia was orginally launched

Hope Skoda get the engines and price right this time around.

Come September! Except for the new horizontal grille on the bumper, and perhaps new fogs lights, no change in the exterior.
As a cost cutting measure, there are no rear defoggers in Fabia since April. Looks like that is being carried over to the next edition.
I see one with body colored orvm, but no fogs. Is there a new variant in offer, or is it just for the test vehicles?
