Something like a Tata Xenon (if it ever launches!), but only if by that time Tata becomes a LOT more reliable. Built quality and reliabilty score very highly on my list of priorities.

However if that does not happen, i just might wait for 2-3 years to replace my Getz with a BIG Sedan.

@Sahil - Another 525D? How about this instead - Drives - Capital A - Business Standard Motoring

Variety man!

My next car would be Maruti Swift Diesel hatch if they launch a ZDI (top end) variant

Realistically, in about a years time, is to go for a powerful diesel hatch, some thing like Getz D.

Looking forward to launches from fiat...

An EVO X whenever it launches. Might get rid of my existing car then and also get a cheap diesel hatch for running around town.

Nothing less than a 5 series for a sedan, for my next upgrade and a parado for a SUV.

Well my car would be an SUV. and I am looking at the 10-15 lakh spectrum. So For now it is Safari. Hoping a few more diesel SUV's are launched in my price range.

Waiting for the G.P. May even consider streching the budget if 1.9 MJD is introduced.

I'd love some variety too man, but its a rule in a family, got to get two of each. Can't bend the rules

Although this time I feel no need for variety when it comes to the 525d, i wouldnt change it for anything in the market/segement now. And if i did have to get something different it would be the A6 3.2 TDi not the A4.

GTO - Just get the damn 525d !! Haven't my reviews convinced you enough
Besides owning a BMW after a Merc feels so much more special !
I am very tempted. Had a recent go in a friends silver 525d. It really is a heck of a sedan.

Likewise. On my consideration list too. I really dont *need* another sedan, but want to buy one just for pleasure. It has to be a truly special car.

Next-Sedan-to-be : Positively Deisel - Fiat Linea / VW Passat ( end '09 - early '10 )

Upcoming-SUV-to-be : VTT 2.2 4X4 Green ( would have loved a Captiva 4x4 too !!! )

Very interesting question! One's been torn between multiple priorities:

1. keep the City and get a cheap diesel hatch - maybe even used. With petrol destined to reach the 3 figure mark in a year, the FE of a car is a consideration. An Indica that manages 15-18kmpl of diesel, is cheap to buy, esp used!?

2. Trade in the city and and get a Sumo Grande/Scorpio/Used Safari ? Can carry lotsa people, reasonably FE too.

3. Trade it in to get a new diesel Sedan - not too keen on this option, but the next fuel hike may force matters. The Fiesta TDCi comes to mind. How bad is A.S.S.?

If only there's a cheaper, longer distance Reva - then thats a great second car.

I guess it'll be a while till the mind's made up Wifey says keep the city, and rent a self-driven car - whichever - when the need arises. Cheaper!?

How about a test drive report on that? I'd like to see how a 220CDi owner compares it.
