I dont like how Swift looks. I saw the picture of the sedan and I dont like the sedan either. Have been a long time Maruti customer, but swift does not appeal to me.

The unanimous opinion here is that the Swift sedan when launched will be ugly. Doesn't matter, I say. The car will still sell like hot cakes.

Thai, we know the pic here is a photoshopped one but the swift in sedan bodystyle is going to look ugly whether it will be like the pic here or the original one.

Swift landau

Played with a software tool called PaintShop Pro.
Worked on islero's modification of a Swift and came up with this three-box landaulette.
Changed the rocker panel for ground clearance. Textured stainless steel lamination on the C-pillar with chrome dummy landau hinges.
And added a mobile phone antenna.

Its gonna look ugly until you do something about the rear window. And it needs another 4 to 6 inches of length i reckon. The color of the background looks neat.

Its due design of Swift itself. It can't be converted into a sedan so easily. It will take lots of efforts and redesigning to make it look like a real sedan. As of now its looking worse than the Tata-207-pickup-turned-Tata-207-sedan! However the work with the software tool is amazing.

The tool is really good, however IMHO it still does not look like a product of the 21st century. Looks somewhat like the 1940s Black Packard

Swift Hatch looks much hotter :

For the Swift Sedan to succeed in the market, they have to launch futuristic models or contemporary executive look sedans like Suzuki Liana etc :

Suzuku Forenza :

Suzuki Aeriosedan :

Suzuki Verona :

Public really hesitates to give credit where it's due?

Swift Hatch is so ugly, it just can't be improved. It looks lke a camel.

Here's the inspiration

Like they say, a camel is a horse designed by a committee!

Originally designed by Pininfarina, visually identical models are currently also sold::
as Chevrolet Nubira in some European markets,
as Chevrolet Optra and Chevrolet Optra5 (hatchback) in Canada, Mexico, Central America, South America, Pakistan, Arabia, Southeast Asia, and South Africa,
as Chevrolet Optra and a modification thereof as Chevrolet SRV in India,
as Suzuki Forenza and Suzuki Reno (hatchback) in USA,
as Buick Excelle and Buick Excelle HRV (hatchback) in China, and
as Holden Viva in Australia and New Zealand.

Sorry that was not the intent. We have many real web artists also in our company and I always praise their designs. I have to admit that even with latest graphic tools, it is not easy to re-design an originally different model. However in a recent car magazine, I was amazed at seeing radical new concept designs done in pencil sketches for even the dated Maruti 800 which made it look much much much chick than even a Santro. It is these artists and concept oriented true innovative minds which should be picked up by Car companies for their latest designs. Come on we need India's own Giorgetto Giugiaro's. And I am sure there are enough out there. Are you listening ?

Mmmph... that was really funny. Could not help laughing.

Regarding new designs, the idea was just to pick up similar looking models to compete with the sedans which we see zooming on India's highways and cities. Maruti is really really very very ancient in this segment. Maruti are you listening?

By the way speaking about good looking black cars here is an Audi which I saw in June 2006 parked outside a hotel. Note its doors and wheels.

This could have been modified much easier into a more futuristic looking sedan.
