re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hi,

What might be the right price for a Wagon R Vxi, 2013 July, 20K KMs. The car is in good condition. Reverse parking sensor is added (integrated with review mirror).

The buyer is quoting 3.5 and will come upto 3.3 L. Is that a decent price?

Regards
Devakumar

You can go eyes closed. This car seems to have hardly run, averaging just 5K kms per year. Obviously go through the service history first. If the history is clean this will be a good buy.

re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hi,
Please suggest the ideal price for Figo Diesel 2012-2013 models run < 40K kms.
BLR prices seems way too high and at least demanding 1 lakh more than normal price.
Have been searching for Figos in BLR, neatly kept cars just vanishes out.

Ex:
Figo D EX 1.4 2012 40K - 3.8L
Figo D ZXI 1.4 2012 35K - 4.6L
Figo D Top end 2012 37K - 4.9L

OBV suggests not more than 3L for these already 5yr old car.
Carwale/Cartrade also suggest 50-60K less.
But, real transactions are more than carwale/cartrade.

Also, how much ideal price for below:

Fiesta 1.6 LXI 30K 2013 - Owner quoting 4.25L
Fiesta 1.6 SXI 40K 2010 - Owner quote 4L
Fiesta 1.6 TDCI 2013 - Owner quote 5L

Kindly suggest.

No offense, but nearly all the prices seemed to be up by a Lakh. If the above are dealer prices then you need to bargain hard.

Very well maintained Figo Titanium 2012 version usually fetches around 3.5Lakhs when sold to a dealer. I would suggest to search in Ford Assured, or genuine owner ads from Team-Bhp Classifields.

Any Tjet or Tjet plus owners comments ?

1. Did 2012 Linea Tjet Plus come with 15 inch steel wheels ?

2. Did 2012 Linea Tjet Plus have cruise control ?

3. Does it make sense to buy a 5 year old Tjet (very well maintained), to keep for another 4 years ?

re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Friends,

Link

I am looking at this 3.2 Trend 2016. Can someone suggest what is the ideal market value of the car? According the seller, it was with Ford and registered under Ford used by some executives. I believe it could be a demo car. Any thoughts whether this is a lemon?

AFAIK, T-Jet was not manufactured in 2012. So, it is most likely a 2011 one bought and registered in 2012 at huge discounts.

Coming to the differences: T-Jet Plus vs T-Jet,

1. All 5 16" turbine alloys vs 15" steel wheels
2. 205 section tyres vs 195 section tyres
3. Perforated leather seats, non-perforated leather door pads and armrests vs fabric seats, door pads and armrests

Checking the 4th - 10th digits of VIN number may be helpful as I believe T-JET and T-JET+ had a different digit (not sure).

Linea got cruise control only from 2014 facelift.

PS: Don't trust the RC too much.

PPS: Attached is the brochure which should give all the details.

Prices are quoted by owners themselves. dealer prices are much cheaper.

Doesn't make as much sense except that owners don't know the market and will first over quote and then come down substantially when bargaining.

A dealer will only sell when his profit margin is met so will inevitably be costlier than the owner. He also needs to spend time doing at least cosmetic fixes on the car so it's nice and shiny outside regardless of busted turbo, suspension needing replacement or whatever else the customer doesn't spot.

If you are interested, ask for an appointment to inspect the vehicle, leave them a quote as per your analysis, ask them to revert in case they do not get better offers.

re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

@Mr.Boss - Anything around 1.25-1.35 Lakhs is a good deal I think. Try to find an individual buyer. Used car dealers will not offer more than 1L for the same. This car is discontinued and maker also stopped selling cars in India.

I have a 2009 Spark LT which clocked 94K on the ODO, and decided to run as long as it can. :-)

re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Folks,

I'm looking to sell my Thar in Pune. This is 2013 CRDe model with AC and power steering. Excellent condition. Has run around 46K kilometers. I'm 2nd owner although I've used it merely 2K kilometers after I bought it.

What should be the reasonable price for this?

re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

friends,

Shortlisted Ford Figo TDCI Titanium 2014. Dealer is quoting 4.5L. Have given quote of 3.8L. It has run 22000kms and checked with ford service. Looks genuine. There is some body work done on right side fender. No structural damage. Yet to get the full service record as not all Ford centers are centralized. This car is in RTO is in mangalore but sold in Bangalore.
Let me know the ideal buyer price to close.

PS:
Comparing the dynamics with Punto Diesel, I feel the suspension are stiff and ride quality is not as good as Punto. Not a major issue given the engine is peppy to drive.
But, when AC is on the peppiness is not there.

I think 3.8L is fair enough for the initial quote, since the car is registered in Mangalore. I presume that you are aware that an NOC from registered RTO might be required to re-register the vehicle in Bangalore. You might have to find an agent for this and it will eventually add to your expenses.

Get the car under-body evaluated by a competent mechanic, check the manufacturing dates on all the tyres including spare. If all is well, anything between 3.8-4.2L can be called a fair price, since it is just 3 years old,Titanium version.
