Khaadu I am not good at this but 15 acres will translate to roughly 6,53,400 sq ft? Say one has to build a dragstrip with a length of 800 meters x 100 ft width then it would translate to 2,62,400 sq ft (6.1 acres?) which is a long shot of the original 6,53,400 sq ft. Correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, if someone sells land in strips, like chicken or saris.

True. I meant that that is the minimum piece of land we require provided the length and width are according to our needs.

The camera is Tadu's. So he would be the best person to tell you more about it. I am a novice when it comes to holding cameras. This is my first stint with a camera, never before have I taken more than 10 pics with any camera.

I know people who wouldn't mind selling some land to the dimensions we need. Just to put my actions where my mouth is, I am ready to use our family farm to build a dragstrip. It is 600+ mtrs in length. Not so sure about the width. So who is willing to sponsor the laying up of rubber and getting the cars down to Hubli?

That's really nice, but we can't put a dragstrip where there is nothing else. I'm thinking it's essential we have it near a city with some motorsport tradition, like BLR (selfish interest!). And I think it's more like 1km for a dragstrip, going by current timings people are setting.

And any news on standings?

Hubli is also mid way between Bombay and Bangalore. If things improve it could actually be a good compromise for people willing to travel to the other city to take part.

No website on the planet seems to have put up the detailed results yet. Only TOI seems to have on Monday's sports edition. Not sure if others did. So grab your paper to know the results.

That's nice. I was hoping the MAI website would have it or something. I've thrown the paper away.

The force of impact and the momentum the car had hurled it further into a a couple of somersaults mid air before it came crashing down. I was at the tower and I clearly remember seeing the car flip, I could see the underbody with my naked eye. Infact, that lap was the only lap I had put the cam off since I wanted to watch them with the naked eye. Otherwise I could have captured the horrifying scene.

The car must have easily gone up at least 10 ft into the air. I was in a state of shock, as if I were in that car. Then Tadu calmed me down saying these cars are built to take such abuse. Thankfully, Rizvi Farook was escorted back in the ambulance. He was OK. I clicked a few pics of him just to be sure it was him. Though he showed no signs of any injury it was later reported that he had a cracked shoulder bone. He went back into the pits to a standing round of applause.
And this is the driver. This pic was taken 15mins after the crash.

Such a beauty reduced to a mere metal lump in tatters is very disheartening ...great pics and i think those who missed like me would rue the fact of not making it
