Foreign cars can run whatever they want. But Indian PS and FI should run street-legal (DOT-approved) tyres.

Yes.

The 2007 SR regulations say that Indian FI class has to run street-legal tyres, like PS class. But the ready-reckoner chart at the end of the document says that FI tyres are free. Typical of the organisers.

So if someone wanted they could get full Drag-spec slicks from Hoosier or Micky Thompson & run them?? Would give them quite an advantage if they have a good PTW ratio in the first place.

Too right. Problem with the M3 is that the power to weight ratio is heavily skewed to the "weight" end of the scale! 1650 Kgs odd... :(

Even so...anything that helps keep the back end in-check during a full-on launch would be a good thing!

I would say that a 250 bhp/ton ratio is still pretty good considering you get good traction & make no mistakes. Has good potential for a decent time.

Well, from what little I've played-around so far, the back is quite "alive"! The one launch vid I saw online also had the car snaking-around for a good 3-4 seconds before it really got going!

Guys, will this be allowed in the Pro-Stock category? It's DOT approved for drag as well as Mild street use (whatever that means)

BF Goodrich g-Force T/A Drag Radial

Yes, it will. BLR has enough of these floating around.

I've been told that launching cars with 400bhp RWD is a question of not too much initial revs.So dont drop it above 3000/3500 id say.Let it grip then goooo. That was even the way in a 170 bhp car that i had.Sprinting is ALL about the start.Thats where time is lost or not.
U all enjoy

Oh for sure, I'd imagine you'd just be spinning the wheels wildly without the traction control if you tried to launch the new M3 with 5-6,000 rpm. Haven't tried it though, so can't be sure!
