Wow, look at this, just 0.2 secs slower than the R35. What chassis and engine was this running?

Not only that Amit, Ashu's ET of 12.6s in the B-Zen nitrous is just 3/10ths off the GT-R..

Whatever its running, thats a quick car. I think it was the 2nd fastest ET of the event.

Imagine doing around 0-180/190kmph in 12.1 secs!!!

God bless "power to weight ratio". LOL

It cant be running a non indian mill considering the fact that it placed 1st place in Indian Open. Im really eager to know what this car is all about now!!!

Ashutosh had a fantastic run as well, its taken some 3-4 baleno engines for them to clock that timing, unfortunately it would blow within first few metres of the strip or during testing itself! Im guessing the engine blew up again coz in another class this car clocked an ET of 16.28secs!!!

Hi,
whats the ballpark estimate for the power to weight ratio here for doing a 12.1 second run.
Just wondering

Did this event run under an FMSCI permit?
If yes, then why does the safety look so lax in the videos?

Well, what I said earlier is true- the Honda winning the Indian Open was powered by a B16. How it made it to the Indian Open instead of running in the Indian Car with Foreign Engine category is unfathomable.

I would have to say somewhere in the region of 300 (+/- a few bhp/ton) for a FWD.

But lets not forget that torque also plays a big role here, so a FI 300bhp engine, will give better acceleration than a NA 300bhp engine, considering both have the exact same power to weight ratio.

Hmm it would be interesting to see how the organizers would react in such a case! Im guessing there wasnt proper scrutiny coz of which such a thing was successfully pulled off! Clocking that timing with an indian engine is gonna be next to impossible hence its gotta be the non IDM mill under the hood. Some how I feel these things happen in every event conducted in mumbai, donno why!!!

I was told that the security was better (sensible) than all the drag events conducted prior to this one...that means either FMSCI has pulled its socks up or the event didnt run under the grace of their blessings!
