Hello,

I am interested in participating in Storm 2012. I have a Xylo so I guess I can start by participating in the Explore category.

1) Do I need couple of companions in the car during the journey ?

2) What are the participating fees ?

3) When can I submit the application for 2012?

4) How many days does Explore rally last ?

I went on Desert Storm's website for getting some answers but could not find them there.

Yes you can use your Xylo to participate in Desert Storm. If it 4x4wd then you would enter Ndure categiry and if 4x2wd then Xplore category.

Yes there have to be two to four people in the car.

2) What are the participating fees ?

40~50K and cover your night stays and dinners/breakfasts.

3) When can I submit the application for 2012?

You'd have to wait till the entries are opened. Normally around September/October. The event web site would be updated accordingly.

4) How many days does Explore rally last ?

This year it was six days. The exact details for 2012 will be announced along with entry opening.

Hi guys,
Just read in the latest issue of Autocar that the Desert storm 2012 will most probably be a contender for the FIA cross country rall raid championship .Also that there is a talk even about it being a part of the Dakar series.If this happens then this is going to be a great moment for all us motorsports fans.lets hope for the best ,
